MSFS 2024 dedicated forum

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I tried to post this on MSFS launch day but something went wrong. In the subsequent says what I was going to say has bore fruit.

"I know the suggestion of having MSFS 2020 and 2024 as separate forums has been mentioned and declined, but as expected, since the launch of MSFS 2024 the dual forum is drowning in MS2024 posts and those of us who have remained with 2020, at least until all the issues etc and calmed down now "lose" our posts, having to scroll through numerous other posts and if I'm honest, the 2020 post probably get lost in the melee.

Is Avsim able to revisit the thought of MSFS2020 and 2024 now having separate forums seeing the amount of 2024 traffic, after all there is separate forums for the others, including MSFS 2012 and FS9...

It looks like sheer wilful obstinacy at this point. The only explanation I've seen is that "one forum is enough for all versions of P3D, so ... " - which is completely irrational as it overlooks that every version of MSFS prior to 2024 had its own separate forum.

Somebody's ego is in play unfortunately.

If people tag their posts with 'MSFS2024', it is easy to just look at 2020 posts.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

Or if MSFS2020 users tag theirs 😉

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

There may be a good and valid reason, but I actually don't see what the problem is in the site administrators' minds.

We already have two subforums: the tips/tricks and the VR ones.  Why not have 4 subforums?  You can still leave the main forum for general...

I note that FS2 runs with 19 subforums so it can't be a technical restriction.

Personally, I'm struggling to find the 2020 posts (I think the first ones when I looked earlier started at about page 5 ) and yes, I think the 2020 ones should also be tagged otherwise most of our time spent will be trying to find the relevant posts rather than reading them.

But it would be a lot easier if there were simply two additional subforums created...

Yep, and after all the two sims are so very different… one works, the other…. not so much. 🤣

If there was a separate forum there would be no need to rely on tagging and it would be even easier...

By the way, I love how we have four different forums for Win 7 through 11 here, and yet somehow it was deemed sensible to combine 2 sims into one...

I think that would make searching for 2020 posts harder.  I have no problem with another forum for 2024, but while it isn't happening just tag 2024 posts.

Yeah, I don't think this two sims in one forum can last long. Relying on people to tag their comments and then confusion about which sim is being talked about is going to make this place worse than discord. I mean I will never buy MS2024 it seems because I have no bandwidth to stream, so this  MSFS2020 forum is my forever home, but now its been invaded by all these MSFS2024 upstarts!!! Or is that startups? Oh wait, most of them cant start anything at the moment it seems! 😁

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

Yes - I agree...but many of the untagged posts at the moment are 2024.  Maybe that will improve over time.

I vote for a separate forum.  Clearly the two sims are not as alike as we were led to believe.

I try to mark my posts as 2024 but it's a two step process before each post.

Maybe it's a money thing - then I can understand the reasoning to not have a new one.

I’ve always noticed that those who “Lord” over AVSIM display a bit of a “dictitorial” attitude now and again. The dismissal of having two separate forms for MSFS 2020 and 2024 is complete and utter obstinate thinking.
