November 28, 20241 yr I suspect the answer is no, but wanted to double check…is there any way to combine the built in live traffic feed (which is actually pretty good, comprehensive and low impact in 2024 compared to 2020) but with AIG or FSLTL models instead of the generic models / paint schemes currently in FS2024? November 28, 20241 yr The models match fine, but livery matching is broken. Livery matching is back at the state it was pre SU13-14 2020. I guess whatever code changes they made in 2020 weren't copied over, or they broke. The default AI is also worse than 2020's. Aircraft just taxi wherever they want, vacate runways at unreasonable speeds and stuff like that. Edited November 28, 20241 yr by Tuskin38
November 28, 20241 yr I'm using FSTL with BATC The models look and work great except I can't see any of the lights from the AI aircraft. Also when disable traffic in FS2024 I still get default AI parked at all the airports conflicting with my injected traffic. The default models don't move, they are just parked. I haven't figured out how or if you can get rid of it, might need a patch. Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
November 28, 20241 yr Yet they force you to use the god awful default ATC and AI traffic in career mode. I've been trying to get around it by using FSHud on a tablet, but then you get penalised for not interacting with the default ATC.
November 28, 20241 yr I am liking 2024 but why cant they fix the AI traffic and ATC drives me nuts. No other stable option until we get FSTL stable its either nothing or the god awful default traffic that acts nothing like the trailer. November 28, 20241 yr They will never be able to provide functional AI traffic. November 28, 20241 yr Unfortunately there are also legalities involved. As a fan based-non profit project you can infringe on copyright and intellectual property. Microsoft needs permission from every Airline livery they display and use or they leave themselves open to being sued from every airline they didn't. Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com

Microsoft needs permission from every Airline livery they display and use or they leave themselves open to being sued from every airline they didn't. Historically, no flight sim has ever had many official liveries in the sim. That's not the problem. The problem is, they took away all granular control of what aircraft and ground vehicles, that us the simmers would choose to have loaded into the sim. There are no longer separate percentage sliders to control the amount of traffic or parked aircraft in the sim. There is one radio button under graphics called "airport detail" or something rather, this supposedly culls static or parked aircraft, but also dumbs down other assets on the ground- in-a-word, useless. The other setting in under the online tab with three settings AI traffic, live traffic and off I believe. No sliders no percentages, no fine control. It is outrageous to me really. The default ATC? Don't get me started. The older ATC version is a masterpiece in comparison. The ATC window alone is enough to make me want pull my face off. The AI pilot radio assist used to be on the top handlebar when you can enable without pausing the sim. Now? You have to exit to the settings under assistance to do it, and then re enter the sim? Such a facepalm. The liveries were always up to third parties or freeware painters historically. Even by dropping our AIG or FSLTL folders into the community 2024 folder, most of these aircraft just display as white, and you still get quite a few of default aircraft that won't go away. The default models no longer have cabin lighting visible from the outside. The landing gear wheels do not roll. AI Cockpits do not have pilots visible from the outside any longer. We will just have to rely on the sim community modders to see if they can find a solution for- at least getting the proper liveries to display. That is to say nothing of eliminating the default aircraft models without dumbing down airport terminal assets. Honorable mention. Jetways pointing up into the air at various angles. Blurry textures on runways, aprons, and taxiways, which to be fair, if you're not up in the drone looking for them, are not much of a problem when taxiing taking off, or landing into an airport. I've noticed this as I've done a lot more flying with the FBW neo, which now works in the sim (development version). Still ground textures in high altitude flight are just not as sharp and defined as the previous sim. Even if you are using the 3rd party map enhancement. Which leads me to believe that terrain texture quality has nothing to do with streaming, but rather the graphics engine dumbing down terrain resolution. For those who enjoy flying general aviation type AC's or bush flying these details might not matter to them. However those who enjoy flying commercial heavies in and out of terminals, this is truly a slap in the face. Commercial flight is a cornerstone to the franchise. What are they thinking... Despite all this (carried away I know) I still fly 2024 every day to give it it's fair shake. NZXT H7 Flow PC Case. 6X Corsair LL140 RGB Fans. Seasonic GX-1000 Focus Gold Power supply. MS/asobo and rightfully so doesn't want to have to recreate EVERY airline livery simply for ai, let alone with the thousands of requests to follow up with free updates for every single reg update that you know would follow. It's a rabbit hole they just don't want to jump in to. Edited November 29, 20241 yr by Dave_YVR i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

I agree, many things in MSFS2024 give the impression that there was some word not allowed sitting in the Asobo offices doing all those things on purpose, because if you think only a second about it, you wont in any case ever come to the conclusion that the decision to implement it like they did now for MSFS2024 is the right thing to do. I am absolutely stunned by the sheer amount of such things. Really. It is like moving the altimeter calibration key from "B" to whatever complicated key combo. WHY? Just why? Of course, many of those things are no dealbreaker, but still. Shaking my head in sheer disbelief each an every time I use MSFS2024... Thankfully, you can revert to 2020 key bindings for the keyboard. There is a setting for it. Click on "keyboard" in the control settings, at the bottom there is a bar with left/right arrow. Select" MSFS 2020 Transversal". You'll get the "B" for the altimeter as well as everything else. NZXT H7 Flow PC Case. 6X Corsair LL140 RGB Fans. Seasonic GX-1000 Focus Gold Power supply. I am aware of this, but you will then loose all MSFS2024 specific commands that were not yet relevant/available in MSFS2020. Kind of a trade off. Instead I downloaded a full default key binding list from flightsim.to and I only adjust those commands relevant to me. To me it's just three keys right to the "b". But I'm sure that is too complicated for some. Edited November 29, 20241 yr by Farlis
