No longer need I Love VFR

I haven't seen it mentioned here, but have you all noticed that the world contains accurate obstacles like radio and cell towers?

It's a shame there are no wires between the towers though.

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

And it seems to have just one type of powerline masts which of course looks wrong in 90% of the regions... half baked. As always.

Greetings, Chris

PuffinFlight's "We love VFR" obstacles was freeware, now included as a default feature in MSFS 2024 and FS2020, was announced at FSExpo in June 2024.

"We Love VFR mod by Puffin Flight? Partnered with and bringing in Orbx to do the visuals for the towers, power lines, smokestacks, cooling towers and other obstructions in a worldwide database"

"We Love VFR is a free add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator that adds thousands of new VFR-friendly objects. In this version, you get communication, radio, and tv antennas, chimneys, cooling towers, radar domes, construction cranes, and satellite/radio telescope dishes."

So, does the freeware version for FS2020 only have one model type of electricity pylon?

We Love VFR never added power towers. Those were in the vanilla sim, the same models that we have currently but with updated placement. There might be something more in the pipeline coming soon(tm) 😉

and Mamu's Power Lines add-on will still be valid with it wires.

So are these mods still needed for MSFS 2020 users? I currently have mine disabled with AL.

MSFS2020 doesn't feature antennas, smoke stacks etc, so We Love VFR and Mamu add-ons might be useful.

That's the spirit! This is why I have confidence that the MSFS team (of which you are included now?) will make MSFS 2024 very good in the upcoming years!

Thanks. I'll enable them.

I'm something what's called "1st party developer". We work with OrbX to provide vertical obstructions. I agree that underneath current issues there is a great sim. And I'm sure the team at Asobo is working hard to make it better.

@PuffinFlight, I'm thinking We Love VFR still has value under FS2024 due to some additional details it offers that still aren't in the stock sim. Curious as to whether it's likely to work okay under 2024 or if it might cause issues.
