December 17, 20241 yr Ok, so I'm trying to understand this. Sorry, I'm a bit slow at some of this stuff. The new AIG-beta for MSFS 2024 will or will not work standalone? Meaning, I do not have any AIG 2020 files and this is a new install of AIG/AIM and not an update for me. The instructions seem to imply (to me at least) that the AIM2024 beta will work on its own without requiring any other files, but if you also have AIG 2020 files then you have more instructions to follow to get it to recognize the 2020 files. I'm basing my interpretation on their statement of "For those who have replaced their AIM files with the new Beta files (Version 1.3.0.3 and higher) are required to migrate their MSFS2020 OCI package to MSFS2024 by following those steps: Am I reading that right? If so, then, for me the new beta never gets past 'loading configuration files'. If not, then i guess the purpose of the beta is only for existing users of AIG. Thanks in advance.

At the moment it's not possible to use Traffic Controller: https://www.alpha-india.net/2024/12/17/ai-manager-beta-for-msfs2024/ Quote We have no estimate when we will release an update to Traffic Controller, so users installing AIM-Beta to get Models and Liveries can use those only with the default Live Traffic or any other 3rd party traffic injector for now. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

December 17, 20241 yr Performance comparison FSLTL (using the injector) and AIG models in 2024: EDDF, Cows DA42 parked at gate B23, clear skies, real time, 4K, DLSS+DLAA, frame generation, TLOD 100, OLOD 200, ultra settings. The biggest challenge of this comparison was using the same amount of AI aircraft. I used max 20 active and max 30 parked both in FSLTL injector and FSHud. Even though I used the same real time, I only got 2 active aircraft with AIG vs 8 with FSLTL. AIG: FPS 87 FSLTL: FPS 85 Conclusion: There doesn't seem to be a significant performance difference between AIG and FSLTL models. Flying around Europe (usually around midday), I get 20 active (which is my limit) with FSHud and AIG. Edited December 18, 20241 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
December 18, 20241 yr We are working on a fix for the Beta users only having FS2024 installed. Should be ready later today 🙂 Regarding performance: Remember this is a simple port from 2020, we have not done any optimazation/SDK changes. There might be even worse performance compared to 2020, because we have some new workarounds and some effects are always enabled somehow in 2024....

Trying to 'open' the new beta never gets past 'loading configuration files'. This is a bug that Kaiii has fixed (see the post above this one) and it concerns those who only have MSFS2024 installed. Anyway, yes, this version is a complete standalone version and you do not need to have MSFS2020 installed or a previous AIG version. However, if you do have the AIG files from MSFS2020 (like a backup of them) you can put those files into the MSFS2024 community folder so you do not have to re-download everything from scratch again! Which will save you a LOT if time. Make sure though that when you do that you ONLY put the folder called 'aig-aitraffic-oci' into it (which might be called 'aig-aitraffic-oci-beta' in 2020 so make sure to also rename it to 'aig-aitraffic-oci'). Also do NOT copy ANY other folders from 2020 to 2024: only the 'aig-aitraffic-oci' one! Edited December 18, 20241 yr by mistolip
December 18, 20241 yr Author Edited instructions for those who only have MSFS2024 installed but who do have a backup of the MSFS2020 AIG files: 1. Wait for Kaiii's fix 😉 2. Open your backup and look for the folder called “aig-aitraffic-oci” 3. If it is called “aig-aitraffic-oci-beta” rename it by removing the beta part 4. Copy the folder to the MSFS2024 Community folder (DO NOT COPY any other AIG directory!) 5. Start AIM (don't worry about any modes: there only is a 2020 and 2024 mode with both sims installed) 6. Open the Settings 7. Navigate to the OCI-Settings 8. Click “Reset SimObjects” (This will take several minutes!) 9. Restart AIM 10. Run a Model Update when asked Edited December 18, 20241 yr by mistolip

Conclusion: There doesn't seem to be a significant performance difference between AIG and FSLTL models. This has ALWAYS been the case. People would commonly report that FSLTL performed MUCH better, but it was always because it was injecting a fraction of the number of AI and those users weren't even aware of the difference (ignorance is bliss). When it comes down to real numbers of matched AI it was often almost identical. This is where the specific system capabilities play a big role between each user. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
