LevelUP 737NG Series for XP12 Released!

That‘s so weird because I tried the 737-700 as well and had the exact opposite issue; during the approach (manually) the pitch was excessively up, meaning I had to push the yoke like crazy to make the plane not climbing…but yeah something doesn‘t seem entirely right.

After shutdown I noticed my trim is at like 0~1, I only disconnect AP after stabilized on final so didn't noticed that in flight, that explains both I guess

  • No. Zibo's FM is quite customized by means of a plugin in order to attain book values within the 738's flight envelope. Back in XP11, it also worked arounnd a few X-Plane limitations and bugs, but I d

Just flew the Zibo 737-800 and LU 737-800 back to back. Right now, it looks like nice eye candy. It doesn't fly anything like Zibo - upon takeoff, I was in LNAV and on AP once 1000 AGL, but I couldn't complete flap retraction over LAX until at least 7,000 AGL because it wouldn't accelerate when I bug up. It went way behind climb profile subsequently and VNAV disconnected. It kept climbing my past altitude of 7,000. I enabled VNAV again and used ALT INTV but it wouldn't start the climb to FL360 once I dialed that altitude in. Nothing short of Level Change could initiate that climb even though VNAV is enabled.

What's the point of flying a jet that relies on AP when the AP doesn't follow simple commands? AP/AT don't decrease VS in climb even though VNAV is disabled and I am bugging the speed to UP marker... I waited 5 minutes for it to catch up, but it simply doesn't work.

It's disappointing. Why say it has the "power of Zibo" when Zibo actually flies well and does what you tell it to do and this thing just... meanders in the air?

I haven't dealt with previous LU aircraft. Were they all like that? I was really excited when I heard they will do the MAX lineup too, but now? Not so much.

Keep in mind that it is a freeware addon that just got released for XP12 and even has 5 different variants. It's not a surprise that it has bugs. I am sure they will fix them. The Zibo had like over 2000 updates since its first release and is the most updated addon ever made for any sim. The LU-addons are very promising because they have the same system-base as ZIBO. They just need to fix those issues that aren't that uncommon after such a "big" release.

I know. Zibo is also freeware. Just wondering how much of a systems base it is though, because it has so many bugs. I do hope they keep providing regular updates and fixes. It does have great potential if they do, but as of now, it's just much more satisfying to fly the Zibo. It doesn't have as much eye candy, but it flies nicer and that's the most important thing to ME. 🙂

Did you read what I wrote above about the autopilot functions?

My error, you ,mentioned zibo, rereading it wasnt about zibo. Mind you proving a free ware plane with no liveries in initial download than asking to create acct to get any, leads to one thing, they simply want more user accounts. Doesnt matter if you use it once. Mind you I deleted it already.

I don't have such problem, AFDS and FMS works exactly as zibo

I wonder if it's the fact the CG is wrongly too aft, it explains the mine and other's observation the airplane pitch up in take off, and excessive pitch down trim for flight, in my test the most flight is OK, but if CG is got too aft, it might cause autopilot run out of authority.

In my first & only test flight, I filled the aircraft with 80% load and "tried" to takeoff...

It was the 736. Plummeted into the skies like mad, no control from the elevator / stab could manage to make it pitch down, but the most negative aspect was that it didn't stall and was actually accelerating and I had to considerably pull on the throttles to make it start to lose energy.

It's a rocket, not a 737... and with that ROC there's aslo something wrong with the engine model / drag ???? Strange like pigs flying.

Good video with some feedback on the -900 from a real 737NG captain. Tl;dw: He found these bugs:

  • Engine sounds are too quiet.
  • Flap ainmation vs commanded position is off.
  • Spoiler animation too fast.
  • Pitch control is too sensitive.
  • Flight director commands too much nose down on acceleration.
  • Ground spoilers deploy in flight when speed brake lever is deployed.
  • AoA on final incorrect.

Reading other comments about the LU 737U1, it seems as if the entire lineup needs at least their autopilot controllers tuned and their CG looked at.

Thanks for the info on the V1.01 update. I tried out the -900, KEWR to KORD and all was good. LNAV/VNAV, auto speeds, crossing altitudes, etc all worked well.

Update 1.0.1 improves the flight handling.

I'm warming up to the LevelUP 737s, but the AudiobirdXP sounds from Zibo's 737 are definitely missed as they assed some nice touches to the experience.
