Captain Sim 717 Elevator Trim

Featured Replies

I can't get the elevator trim of the CS717 to behave in FS2020. The aircraft initially reacts to trim changes, then seems to compensate for the trim setting and reverts to its previous climb/descent. It's as though it's on autopilot but I really don't think it is (because I never engaged autopilot and it looks to be off).

I've seen one other report of this issue, but I gather it works properly for most owners. Does anyone else here have this problem, or know what I might be doing wrongly?

I'm not having that issue with the 717. One thing you might want to check is to make sure the hydraulic system cross tie valve is open; I usually open it right away when the aux oil pump is running. I noticed we I didn't have it opened, I was getting all kinds of weird flight control responses.

This dumb plane is always broken in some way due to lack of qa testing.  I can't get 1.1.15 to grab the localizer or the glide slope.  Do you guys have V 1.1.15 are you able to grab the localizer from heading mode?

Same here, I was hoping the 717 would be stable after all of the patches they released but basic stuff is still not functional like LNAV and glide scope capture. I also have the throttles pulling back right after takeoff on ATS. Posted these questions on their forum and the posts got deleted with no explanation. It's a joke.

You might have to pay to use the trim for CS products

Then banned from their discord or forum for asking the question. Buyer's of CS products be aware. They don't care about you and just want your quick money (you have been warned). No more to say.

Where can you find that?
The latest version at the CS Extended download is 1.100

I understand the CS 717 systems are based on the default A320. Maybe the Airbus auto trim is also included and therefore, you won't need to trim?

That company is just a scam, period.

They have completely revamped the plane since v 1.1.  They actually now have full on custom PFD, displays and McDonnell Douglas crazy robot lady Callouts. It was acceptable to fly until the latest update broke it. The next v1.2 update will be a fully revamped cabin with high detail and an a few more screens and some fixes like the windshield deice now works properly.

As you can see here it's not capturing the ILS at MSY.  But prior to this update it would capture the ILS and the GS with the autothrottle was all working well it was landing fine it was taking off fine, but v 1.1.15 is messed up.   EY From CS responded and said they are looking to several things.

I've been having pretty good luck with the 717. I did a short hop this afternoon from KATL to KMSY and the plane had no issue capturing the 29 localizer.

My, this is like reading a post of mine from 2009. How things have not changed at all. Back in the 757 FSX days when they still had coders and produced real planes, they’d break things for months after every patch.

I learned many years and tears ago to stay away from CS. I never liked their dumbed down aircraft using the simulators default panels and sounds.

Are you sure. Doesn't look like it's working.  localizer is still to the left and it still says LOC ARMED.  What are you trying to convey with the picture.  V1.1.08 would look like this.
