MSFS2020 Official/OneStore

Is that a directory? Because I don't seem to have it or can't locate it.

  • I’ve updated five of my TBM 850 repaints to make them compatible with the MSFS 2024 version. I’ve also added painted registration numbers this time. https://flightsim.to/liveries/black-square-tbm

  • I think you need to install the default 2020 TBM.   -B

  • The TBM 850 only uses the tb930 exterior sounds, apart from that it's all from scratch including the model.

Yes. It depends where you have MSFS2020 installed. Did you buy it from Steam or MS Store? If you bought it from MS Store, I think the default location is here: %localAppData%\packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore (just copy and paste the location into File Explorer).

The destination folder (MS Store) should be: %localAppData%\packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official2020\OneStore

If you have a custom installation, it'll be in a subfolder where you installed MSFS2020/MSFS2024.

Copy "asobo-aircraft-tbm930" from MSFS2020 Official/OneStore to MSFS2024 Official2020/OneStore.

My MSFS2024 OneStore directory is empty. Instead, I have a directory at  C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\StreamedPackages which when opened looks a lot like what I expect OneStore to look like. If I were to paste something into the empty MSFS2024 OneStore folder, I wonder if it would show up in MSFS2024?

Are we talking about the MSFS2024 Official2020/OneStore folder here? I think it's empty unless you copy something into it.

Nope.. Go up a level from your Community folder.

Here is what I see at C:\Users\arkla\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages. Both  of the "Official" folders hold a OneStore folder, and both of the OneStore folders are empty. Guess I don't understand something.

That looks allright. Now copy "asobo-aircraft-tbm930" from MSFS2020 to C:\Users\arkla\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official2020\OneStore.

That works, thanks.  I didn't realize MSFS2024 "contained" a separate OneStore for each sim, and I guess those OneStores hold only non-streamed packages.

You can copy over the default "base level" 2020 airplanes, if you wish.  I copied the C152, G36, TBM, and King Air.

747-8 too. That way you can have direct Simbrief import.  But sadly not the 787-10.  As a Premium Deluxe Plane it’s DRM won’t allow it to function outside of its “intended installation folder”.  That’s been my finding so far and if someone can show me I’m mistaken I’m all ears please and thank you!

What is the difference between copying to the "Official2020" folder and just copying to the Community folder in 2024?

I  have yet to understand what the Official2020 and Official2024 folders are for that is different than what the Community folder is for.

On my computer (I have the Steam version, so my install has Steam instead of OneStore):

Community
    |----- My addon folders I have installed

Official2020
    |----- Steam

Official2024
    |----- Steam

Both the Steam folders are empty. I have just been placing everything in the Community folder, including 2020 default planes. Everything is working.

Does anybody know what the purpose of the "Official2020" and "Official2024" folders is? What will go there? Will the purchases you make in the marketplace be placed there, and depending on whether you have the Steam or Store version, that is the difference in the folder names?

Not sure, but I suppose that the Official folder content gets loaded before the Community content, as in MSFS2020..

Same finding for the Baron.

That way, you can ensure that mods and liveries in the Community folder get applied to the base model in the Official folder.

Once we get the green light to download streamed content to our PC, I would expect these folders to be filled with content.
