How to remove dynamic registrations

Featured Replies

Has anyone figured out a solution to removing or hiding the dynamic registration in 2024? I just installed the Flysimware C414 and they seem to have solved the issue since their liveries have painted on registrations. When I use the FSR500 with repaints in 2024 that were made for 2020 the sim will add a random dynamic registration over the painted one and it's usually a wacky color/font as well.

I've read some things about it on the official forums but nothing I've tried seems to work. I did a little digging through the C414 .cfg files to see if I can find their trick but I'm no expert there so I'm coming up a bit empty handed.

I know we have some repaint experts around here so I was curious if there is an easy tweak that can be done.

I'd be happy if they just made it so the dynamic registrations WORKED! I put my desired N number in and the sim completely ignores it...

Yes this is very unfortunate and hopefully will be fixed soon. I insist on using my own reg.

Yea, this is just one of those things I cannot fathom; why did they think randomized registrations would make sense in any scenery. Every time I load I have a different registration. Hopefully they will "fix" this thing that worked perfectly fine in 2020 in the first sim update.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

Their rationale was apparently that an automated registration number based on where the aircraft is departing from might add authenticity - if departure is in the US, the number is a US-formatted number, and if departure is from Australia, it is an Australian formatted number, etc.

I wouldn't mind if it was a feature that could be switched on or off, but that is not the case.  And I wouldn't mind if that number could be formatted so that it had a contrasting stroke around each letter/number to ensure it was more visible regardless of the painted background colour or design.  And it would be OK too if it could be resized to suit the size of the airframe.  But no one at Microsoft/Asobo thought of any of those factors - those registration numbers look completely inauthentic.

And this is just one small issue that needs urgent attention.

As per usual it's a step backwards from something that worked perfectly fine before, simply add in an option to have Registration Based On Country OR Personalised, but nah they had to change it completely and now have to make a change yet again once the "votes" get high enough. Poor game design decision yet again.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

It's a known bug with no info/date on a fix.

When you go to the configuration screen in 2024, where you can change the reg number, it states right there that the number will be displayed on your aircraft! Due to this I would say that the system is meant to do what we want, just like in 2020, but it is somewhat FUBAR...

But when using default ATC you will be addressed with a random registration no matter what livery you chose...

I agree with the others here this should be corrected ASAP, because now it is impossible to simulate a tour with the same airplane...

Do you think perhaps the "game" developers read somewhere about transponder codes and misapplied that to registration numbers?  🤣
