Humans to me seem to be a major mistake from nature. Luckily we know this ourselves and we seem to be working hard to clear the planet from ourselves. Unluckily, we will take almost all other living beings with us in doing so. But the planet will survive, and nature might once, in the far future, flourish again without us. And now that I've been sensitized to the practice by this video, I'm noticing that embalming unsuspecting ant colonies is apparently quite a popular thing to do. I know I'm probably being a bit too sensitive on this, but I feel that after the first few times, hopefully for legitimate scientific purposes, the practice takes on a veneer of meaningless cruelty that we probably wouldn't tolerate very long if people were doing it to something larger and cuter....
