iniBuilds A330 - it's good!

I finished OMAA-EIDW and when I landed, fuel use was 3400kg more than predicted. Another issue is that the aircraft needs excessive thrust to get moving on the ground - has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, I did...

Inflight there's also some more drag than expected, requiring high thrust during some descents, when the 330 is actually a rather "slippery" aircraft giving it's pilots problems if they do not get the speed within limits during the approach and sometimes ending in GA.

  • This does seem to be a fantastic aircraft! I really like that China Airlines livery. The place seems to handle well and once I figured out my issue surrounding the performs data error it worked fine!

This is a real world route ZRH-HKG from yesterday. The flight took 12.5 hours. And yes, what a weird route:

Dear @Cpt_Piett,

I made a "deep search" in the forum for this post of yours 🙂

Not the 330, because I now intend to start my 330 experience with the HeadWinds, but the last few days, on a small diversion from CAreer Mode which is now where I spend most of the time playing FS 2024, I decided to give a go to the Inibuilds 321 LR, and just as you pointed out in this thread reagrding the default 330 qualities, I found it rather enjoyable, with lot's of features that before the advent of this new MSFS line of flight simulators were inexistent, in any of the platforms, to such a level of quality / detail for default aircraft.

Total Simbrief integration, very acceptable performance overall provided no abnormals take place.

It's a good aircraft. In fact we're lucky to have such a high quality airliner as default in the sim. It's obviously not on the level as the Fenix, but IMO it's more than good enough.

I've done a few flights in the 321LR as well - but I prefer the A330. It's something about the size of the thing - and the range of course, for those intercontinental flights 😄

I did AFR291 on the weekend, RJBB to LFPG, in the A332. No issues other than as some of pointed out before, the fuel usage.

Also, don't forget to request cruise wind, the aircraft only loads take off and decent winds automatically.

320SimPilot also just a did a video on the -300

H9w does this compare to the Headwind A330?

That inspires me to do LFPO to RJAA (got payware airports for both). Just made a Simbrief plan and I was 11,000kg short of fuel with the -300 but fine in the -200. I’ll bring 5000kg extra in addition to what Simbrief suggests, just in case. That’ll give me a TOW of 230,000kg (which is exactly at MTOW), 92,600kg of fuel (which is max) and an estimated air time of about 13 hours.

I need to figure out how to request cruise wind, haven’t done that before. I think 🤔

Fun fact: the max fuel load in the A332 is 20,000kg more than the MTOW of the A320 😅

Fuel prediction is not very accurate though. It was -80.000kg when I started in Paris. Now it's -20.000kg.

EDIT: It's because of extra (-23.4). I think...

Did my first flight last night, in the default Inibuilds 330, Standard Version of FS 2024.

Overall very pleased with the experience !

How the heck are you folks able to get SID and STAR for the default A330?  For the life of me, I cant get any SID or STAR.  Yes, I have uninstalled Navigraph for MSFS 2024, I have even tried default scenery, and no dice.

What's the issue you have? What part isn't working?

What does scenery have to do with it, and WHY would you uninstall navigraph??

This works like any other Airbus to set what you are asking for. Perhaps you can elaborate on your exact procedure?

I think my longest flight was from HECA to JFK flying the ini A350-1000ULR. The distance was about 5100 miles. I set it up before bedtime and when I woke up the next morning it was about 500 miles out from JFK. Great flight. I did it in the latest 2024 4 Beta build and everything went flawless.
