February 7, 20251 yr Just found this on another site relating to Blacksquare aircraft if anyone is interested: My standalone aircraft will be updated for MSFS 2024 compatibility (to the best standard I can offer with what Asobo has provided to us developers) for free. Now that some of the most important bugs are sorted out of 2024, I would like to get to this soon. The Steam Gauge Overhaul (Analog) aircraft, unfortunately, do not have a path forward in 2024 as a complete product. This is due to changes in the default aircraft 3D models, model architecture, encryption, package version recognition, and sound system. I am creating new products for MSFS 2020 and 2024 for all the Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft as standalone models, and up to the standards of the Duke, TBM, and Starship, including new features that roughly double the code complexity of the aircraft. These will be sold as separate products, with a discount for existing owners of the corresponding MSFS 2020 aircraft. In the meantime, a few users have posted that you can enjoy the Steam Gauge Overhaul aircraft in MSFS 2024 by simply copying the base default aircraft from your MSFS 2020 "Official" package folder into the MSFS 2024 community folder. While this is not something I can officially endorse at this moment, it sounds like it's possible, and it's free! Let me know if you have any other questions! https://community.justflight.com/topic/7413/black-square-updates-for-msfs2024/12 Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
February 7, 20251 yr Not sure why the post I just made about Blacksquare is hidden and has to be approved. Never had this before - there is nothing odd or illegal about it. All coming with an installer, be it directly for the addon itself or via ORBX, Contrail etc., I did not add using AddonLinker but by installing it directly. Either via another library (like for ORBX) or in very few cases, sadly directly into the community folder of MSFS2020. So, for the ones that you have directly installed into community, move them out of community and paste them into Addon Linker structure. The ones you have installed into Orbx library, move them out of Orbx library and past them into the Addon Linker structure. Now you have all packages in the Addon Linker structure and not any packages in any other structure. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 7, 20251 yr There may be packages (e.g. airports) in the 2024 cloud that you often wish to temporarily disable. AoL cannot address the cloud. So just download them from the cloud using msfs2024 content manager or whatever, and put them into the AoL structure. And then use AoL to run them in and out of Official (not community). (We can't do this right now in 2024 because we can't move stuff from the cloud to hardrive until the marketplace opens). Example: Redwings 1935 airports which are in the 2020 marketplace. There are also modern versions of these airports of course that are being used in msfs right now. I use addon linker to move them in and out of 2020 Official. And also to move the old 1935 into and out of 2020 Offical (not community). As you all know, AoL allows you to move links into and out of community or into and out official. The menu at the top of AoL guides you into how to set this up. It asks you which folder structure you want to have links moved in and out of official. And which folder structure you want to have links moved in and out of official. When you click on a folder all the links in that folder and its subfolders go either into community or official automatically. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 7, 20251 yr the PMDG 777 seems to work 99% fine, as long as you don't hit any key bound to the 'Toggle DME' command. Which by default is the middle mouse button and 'F'. You also have to spawn on the Runway I just deleted the binding. Just watching Chewwy do a flight from OMDB to OIIE in 2024 and the aircraft worked fine except an error when trying to update the navdata via the EFB, but you don't need to do that if you've already updated it via Navigraph Hub IIRC Edited February 7, 20251 yr by Tuskin38

Is this without spawning on the runway but from C&D? I guess if it's still the 2020 plane in 2024 the LVARS should be the same and my HW should work too 🙂 Now does anyone know how the DD sceneries are in 2024? Particularly DD KEWR? Some of my selfish asks LOL Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

February 10, 20251 yr Author FlyTampa Amsterdam as an example: do I also need to link the FlyTampa libraries to MSFS2024 for it to work? All those details are just almost impossible to manage, I guess I will go with the suggestion to install only things that are officially supported... I have no issues, becaus I have no intention of "stuffing" old MSFS 2020 addons into the new sim. I'd rather wait for addons that are "built from the ground up" to work with MSFS 2024.
March 7, 20251 yr Author Ok, now with SU1 I took the plunge and removed MSFS2020 from my disk. But of course, I was to fast and removed everything. Now e.g. ORBX does not allow me to install MSFS2020 sceneries into MSFS2024, the Tool simply does not show MSFS2020 anymore. So how the heck I now get for example FT YSSY into MSFS2024? I knew it will end in a mess... oh boy. FlyTampa is particularly bad in giving information about their MSFS2024 compatibility...
