Michelle Yeoh, who seems to be a decent actor in other things, totally over does it, way over the top. And what's with the format, are they trying to copy Guy Ritchie, or something? Such a shame. Another lost opportunity. Will Star Trek ever be what it was?

February 8, 20251 yr Moderator Sadly the same idiots who made Star Trek Discovery did S31. They haven't a clue about Star Trek history, traditions at all. I usually like everything Yeoh does but I suspect she knew it was junkand just took the payday. The format seemed like they were going for a series - if so, they missed it by a mile. well, at least Star Trek Strange New Worlds is coming and they did a good job last season. February 8, 20251 yr I like Strange New Worlds. Looking forward to season 3. I have a hard time liking Patrick Stewart after his inappropriate political comments. I can't forget about things he's said when I watch Star Trek Next Generation or Picard, which sours the entertainment value for me a bit. It makes it more difficult for me to suspend disbelief and see him as Captain of the Enterprise. Actors should keep their politics to themselves. February 9, 20251 yr Strange New Worlds is a very mixed bag, and somewhat disappointing if I am being brutally honest. It can be quite enjoyable at times, but (like almost everything else these days) it seems to be yet another example of "made for the limited attention span Generation Z crowd". Too many silly moments and misdirected humour for my liking. February 10, 20251 yr Moderator If you hadn't noticed, everything having to do with the "Mirror" Trek Universe was designed to be 'over the top' and an anachronism to the 'normal' ideals and morals of The Federation. Phillipa Georgiou is a by-product of that extreme, quite hammy side of Trek. Section 31 as portrayed in Deep Space Nine was the best iteration of the concept; after Star Trek: Enterprise it was just exploited to get maximum Fan traction.
