February 22, 20251 yr Just now, first time up in 2024 TO at KRNO and out the window we see a lot of thin clouds in the distance which of course happens in the RW. Here's the view from the VC with the circle around a small thin cloud I then zoomed in on. PLEASE NOTE: the second screenshot closeup was hugely enhanced in paint.net to highlight the STRUCTURE being employed. And the closeup, hugely enhanced to reveal the plate-like structure being used. For sure the sharpening filters I use enhance this slightly but it's my preference for the rest of what they do in terms of sharp edges of buildings, horizon, runways from a distance and so forth. This image I shared before had no relation to sharpening filters, and I just thought it looked unnatural you can even see rows of them on the lower right side of the shot and I've seen it in a couple of cloud layers in my 15 or so flights now. Not sure why this is so dark but I think it was in late dusk pointing away from the sundown: Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. I decided to let the Longitude crash into the mountains behind Santa Barbara CA as BATC decided to send me, in a Longitude, to Rwy15L at KSBA. I wanted to see the outcome of the crash there and I was so struck by the incredible detail in all of the vegetation around the plane crash. The potential issue is this: I'll never see this kind of detail in my use of the sim. So....is all of this detail being processed, even though in effect it's not really being accessed? If so, what sliders can be dialed back to recoup some of this processing cost without noticing loss of areas that indeed will matter? I mean, even GA flight don't get you down into the ground where you can see this LOD. No it only renders in when your close to the ground. ATP MEL,CFI,CFII,MEI. Type Ratings B-737, ERJ-190,ERJ-170

Often disappointed with the 2024 graphics. Are you in the SU1 beta? haven't had that issue since joining. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
