Inibuild A350 - Horrible FPS in FS2020

Featured Replies

Just did 14 hours with the plane and had no problems. Step climbs worked perfectly. Sim responded well to everything. No CTDs, no freezing... it worked fine. This is coming from a Boeing guy. Is it my favorite aircraft? No... not personally, but it seemed to work well. I do wish the price was slightly lower, but I'm overall happy with the product.

  • That's just some random excuse as everyone knows the history of inibuilds addons both scenery and airlines have always had performance issues.

😂 and who is surprised by this?? I don’t get how so many people jump on the “greatest simulation airplane ever!!” bandwagon when the company has proven time and time again that their products run poor

What a mixed bag of what people are seeing/experiencing lol, I was going to pull the trigger after work today but not really sure now. It is up there in price $107 CDN so the performance does concern me a little. I am still running 2020. It is such a shame the devs do not offer a one time limited trial to see how it performs on the buyers PC. For reference with my PC I get great performance in the Fenix, 737 Max and 777 with my fps locked at 72 and pretty much ultra settings. I also run BATC with fairly modest settings. Using Auto FPS I have my TLOD at 80 on the ground and 300 in the air and with these settings get a really consistent FTV which equals smooth flight. I do drop my fps lock if I am in the 777 at IniBuilds EGLL or somewhere similar but once in the air it goes back to 72. Out of all my pay ware aircraft I actually find the Fenix A320 the best performer.

Time to procrastinate further me thinks ..... 🤣

OK so my 2 cents on FS2020 so far.

RTX 4070 Super, 64GB ram, 9800X3D, running 5120x1440 resolution, DLSS4 Quality.

Performance:

- Running OK, I think honestly on par with the PMDG 777

- Didn't land yet at any super big airport like JFK, but took off from 3rd party EKCH (copenhagen) and landed at 3rd party LFPG and it was fine

Offtopic , but I think it needs a bit more cooking time. It has some bugs that honestly shouldn't have gone live if they had done one flight in this thing before launch (Ap disconnect alarm keeps ringing forever, doesn't take ILS frequencies that end with 5 ).

And I am no pilot, so I can't say how it's suppose to handle, etc., but just looking at the engine spool up for example, I don't think those kinds of things behave like the real thing. We'll see more reviews as they come out.

Since it needs a few more patches and maybe even improvements, then I don't think it's worth the asking price just now. I wouldn't put it too far off either, but 73 euros + tax is more expensive than the PMDG, and the PMDG 777 is better overall, hands down, and that one is slightly cheaper. Reason I bought it day 1 is because I watched a few of the previews plus their own flight streams and it seemed like it was in a really good shape, with good overall impressions. I don't regret the purchase either, honestly, makes me want to install FS2024 and see how it behaves there.

I don’t understand how you are doing well with such a resolution. I also have an RTX 4070 Super, but at 2K everything is tight. And I have 7800X3D

Check you have the AP disconnect bind set correctly. It doesn’t ring forever for me and behaves as expected. Bound to “Autopilot Off”

FS2020 is a balancing act 🙂 The higher resolution actually improved the situation as the GPU was running at 40% load before I upgraded the CPU. With TAA and more resolution, I went from being CPU-bottlenecked to GPU-bottlenecked with better framerate (weird right ?) . Check your GPU load in task manager, make sure you are not CPU-bottlenecked.

There's all kinds of weird things in fs2020, e.g. I changed from DLSS4 quality to performance and i actually got fewer fps 😐

I also capped my framerate to 50% of the display's capability (from 120hz to 60hz).

It's why I was so hyped for FS2024 to come out as it solves some of this silly dance. But alas, we know how that turned out at launch 🙂

Interesting that people keep saying that performance is on par or maybe a little bit below the PMDG777 because now you are comparing a plane "with" a full cabin to a plane that doesn't have any cabin at all and the plane with a full cabin performs better.

No wonder they didn't include a cabin in 2020...

Have a Wonderful Day

it has surprised me a bit, just because cabins seem to not really take much from the performance on other aircraft

on the A380 you can completely turn it off right, and from memory, I don't recall it making a huge difference on my PC

First delivery flight to OMDB is over and so far so good after almost 6 hours.

I have a Hotas Warthog and its quite sensitive when a linear curve is used but i guess its what they want. Feels funny but again not that bad. Performance was blended but mostly to the good.

I used it with default LFBO/OMDB(DELUXE) with no traffic or Vatsim.

Sounds is really loud and crazy. Special those flaps and landing gear made me laugh. Setting the master and some sounds down to 40% made it better.

I couldnt get charts from Navigraph to work but it did accept the code though.

Seems like there is not a Captain /FO control option.

I had 900 kg extra fuel vs Simbrief plan at OMDB.

I am using a I7-4770K@25HZ with and old GTX1080TI FTW3 mostly high settings with a few Ultra @4K@70%

Thanks

Flown four flights since yesterday and I’ll call being very impressed. The patch seems to have fixed a few glitches that I ran into previously and overall for the money this is a very solid release and it’s nice to have a proper ‘modern’ Airbus at last.
I find clicking through the menus a bit glitchy and fiddly at times, for example with the checklists, but I guess it takes a bit of getting used to.
Performance is fine for me, on a par with the Fenix or 777 and the cabin in 2024 is superb, although it’s disappointing to not have anything in 2020 where I’m still doing most of my flying

Look....it's not Fenix for now, but very close. Also I am on 2020 and performance is OK really....Nothing to brag about. Heavy ARPTS are always and issue, but acceptable issue. And of course depends of your expectation. Price? Well, not sure what to tell you....LOL. I don't drink LOL, so I am fine. Not that bad for our hobby.

But what I like it's something totally new...New FMS, new way of planning the trip. Unlike others really. Feeling? Not bad, "hand" flying is nice, AP works as described, landing is fantastic although much more sensitive then A320...

I still have to make a longer trip. For last 3 days I was playing with settings and SIM brief issue. And now it appears that I am ready for tomorrow. And will see how that goes. One thing is for sure, lot's of work in cockpit, but once you figure where is what it should be good.

I pulled the trigger yesterday, I am liking her. She is definitely a little harder on performance than the Fenix or 737 Max but definitely manageable. I am currently about 3 hours in from IniBuilds EGLL heading to FlyTampa CYYZ. So far zero issues and no performance degradation holding steady at 72 fps although I do expect that to drop once I hit Toronto. I did a couple of test route setups so I could get a feel for the new flows and programming the MCDU, the basics are the same coming from. any airbus although it did take me a awhile to figure out how to turn on TCAS lol. I got that figured before I fired up BATC 🤣

I use the automatic response and radio tuning with BATC and with the A350 there are some occasions where I have to "force" a response or change of frequency. Went to the BATC discord to enquire/report but they are already aware.

Unable to check if there's been any fix as I cannot access discord from work.

My next flight was in the Fenix and BATC behaved as normal (per my preferences).

The auto tuning of radio frequencies with BATC is still hit and miss. Hope they fix that soon, I had read that this is an IniBuilds issue and not with BATC

I have recently started flying offline because the FPS drops significantly when the iniA350 model is displayed in multiplayer.
A350 3D model in FSLTL displays a simple model with 10,000 vertices and does not affect performance, but ini350 has over 6 million vertices and the CPU load is terrible due to its complex construction.
The same is true for fbw380, but the performance is catastrophic when multiple units are displayed due to the lack of LOD models.
