Anyone else find 2024 unusable after update?

Wondering if it's just me but 2024 is now unusable. Once I select the departure airport I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes before it pushes through the cloud to the airport runway. That's after a good 5 minutes after selecting the departure airport. So 15 minutes. Then once on the runway the graphics very slowly draw themselves right in front of my eyes. I start with basically the skeleton of a cockpit and grey patch for a runway. That all takes a few minutes to propegate. Performance is fine once all is said and done, but that's basically unusable in my opinion.

I am normally a positive guy but this 2024 Flight Sim is a challenge to maintain that standard. My experience is somewhat the same even in clear weather it occasionally never gets to the airport (circle around & around lower right corner), have to back out & try again. I have a top-notch computer/s, frames in 2d, 150. Finally, just gave up for the day. One can call it what you will but I agree, it's Unusable, My Opinion as well.  Truly Very happy for those that are pleased with the Product.

For me, it is rock solid, flights launching every time in well under a minute with everything loaded and crystal clear straight away.

I did a great Fenix run into Ini's JFK yesterday with full AI and it performed beautifully 60-80f. I think that's an issue local to you.

  • Works perfectly for me, sorry.

Yes, choose your starting point, zoom out, then push "FLY". Works most times.

I never needed to do that. I zoom all in to choose where I want to start, click Fly and it loads in 5 to 20 seconds.

Seems some of you have similar issues. I'll try the suggestions and see what happens. Like I said, it runs smooth if it gets going. 2020 on the other hand is butter smooth in all aspects.

I did a flight yesterday from PADU to PANC in the FlightFx P180. The plane handled like a champ almost throughout the flight. All of a sudden, all ground scenery went blurry, and the plane made a left turn from flt plan and start descending then climb. It took me a little while to recover, the AP refused to reengage. I had to use manual mode to get back on correct course, then ground scenery cleared up and AP was able to reconnect. All went fine the rest of the flight. That was the first time that ever happened to me in 2024 and that was the first flight I took since the last SU1 update. But I wouldn't go as far to say that 2024 was unusable.

Hi mate, I just picked up on this.  Does that aircraft now have a native installer for MSFS2024?

I was going to get it, but everywhere I read it says 2020 only??

i'm surprised you only get stuck for 5 to 10 minutes, mine just spins with the white circle in the bottom right hand-corner.  It's brutal, I walked about and came back 1/2 hour and it was still going.   (FBW A32nx (LEAP))

I dont even zoom in. I open the EFB and load my flight plan created with LNM with my start point hit fly and it still takes an extra minute or so.

Looks better.

Imho it all comes down to your IN speed/bandwidth and if your pc is capable of processing all cloud data fast enough.

Since the update it does seem I get more stutters then I was seeing pre update....despite promises of better performance I seem to be in the other camp...more performance issue.

I don't think it has an installer. You have to purchase in 2020 Marketplace, Then open 2024 content manager then activate it there. But it's a great aircraft to fly. 41000 ft @ mach .61

It happened to me again today on a flight from KDFW to KBOS in Fenix A321. Halfway through flight everything got blurry the AP disconnected, the aircraft made a left turn and climbed from 360 to 410. I was away from computer when this started but when I returned and seen what happened, I was able to manually correct my heading and ALT. But AP wouldn't engage. Then everything got crystal clear, and scenery got sharp like I never saw it before. And I was able to re=engage the AP and continue flight without an issue. Go figure!!!

It certainly was before this update. My graphics are set to ultra. I get around 57fps, but right now the graphics look like flightsim for windows 95. I don't get it.

I have the same problems since the last udpate.
The sim loads a little faster but after, choosing a free flight and URBE (airport in my city Rome) it loads for an infinite time with the wheel spinning at the bottom right!
Before the update I also played in VR with the Christal Light and I had found a good compromise.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D 12-Core
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080

I did another test.
I placed the helicopter in the Sahara desert, where there is nothing except a small house. In this way after about 20 seconds I saw the cockpit.
I was trying to improve the graphic setting because when I turned my head I had some flickering but at the third "esc" (to go to the setup) the simulator crashed.
I think that's enough for today.
