March 13, 20251 yr Finally Prosim (cockpit suite) and Wideview are compatible with MSFS 2024. So I am going to install MSFS on both view pc’s today. My question : do you have any tips/advices on how to set it up to / configure it to have a stable base ? What settings add stability ? What settings are to avoid ? I will be using : - FSUIPC - AutoFPS - AddonsLinker - Bijan ( not right away ) - Prosim/Simsounds/RealTraffic+PSXT ( last one not right away ) If that runs fine I will be adding FT Amsterdam Schiphol ( my main airport ) and the add other addons I already have and have been made MSFS 2024 compatible. - - - Fitst I will have to buy 2 versions of MSFS 2024. Now I have 2x MS Store PdL for MSFS 2020. As I only fly the Prosim 738 what would you advice ? All suggestions are welcome Thank you in advance 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
March 13, 20251 yr I would run MSFS 2024 with the bare bones setup for your cockpit environment and make sure it's stable before using add-ons like AutoFPS, Bijans, etc. Also, MSFS 2024 handles seasons now so you may not need Bijans. I've found the FSUIPC support forums really helpful in the past. The latest incarnation of AutoFPS works really well in 2024 - and allows me to ramp up my detail settings quite a lot. Again - I don't see this impacting the sim negatively. AddonsLinker is a *must*! Has to be my favourite (and free) MSFS addon. Much as I've like Bijan's scenery mods in the past (and I'd like to stay loyal), I think I actually prefer default 2024 vegetation these days.

March 13, 20251 yr I simply started with recommended settings and no addons then began to increase things until my performance was no longer acceptable. Based on my system, I have found that I need to run all graphics settings in 2024 at about 1 notch lower than I did in 2020 and I think many others are finding similar unless they have very high end rigs. The FRG mod and AutoFPS have enabled me to run things a lot higher than I would have been able to otherwise. If you own the Premium Deluxe or Deluxe version of MSFS 2020, note that your Premium Deluxe or Deluxe planes will carry over to MSFS 2024 if you buy the Standard Version of MSFS 2024. In effect, you are getting free planes if you buy the Standard Version of MSFS 2024, just because you own the Premium Deluxe or Deluxe versions of MSFS 2020. Having said that, I don't know that if you own the Premium Deluxe or Deluxe version of MSFS 2020 on Microsoft Store, and then you switch to Steam, whether your planes will carry over. And I don't know if your marketplace add-ons that you purchased in MSFS 2020 will carry over either if you switch to Steam. And the vice versa is true, if you go from Steam in MSFS 2020, to Microsoft Store for MSFS 2024. This is something you should check. So don't just buy MSFS 2024 off of Steam blindly, make sure you know if the planes and add-ons carry over if you switch from Steam to Microsoft Store, or switch from Microsoft Store to Steam. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
March 13, 20251 yr Author I made the choice to buy the Standard versions of MSFS 2024. As I use 2 MS Accounts that both have a MSFS 2020 PdL version which works without account issues , I’d though of buying it from within those accounts. I'm following this with interest because I would like to move my cockpit from P3D to2024. I'm curious what method you are using to get your forward view, without the instrument panel. Does it give you a realistic perspective when on the glideslope. YouTube videos of home cockpits with a custom view often show a wrong perspective, which becomes very obvious on the approach. It usually looks much too flat. John B
