My understanding is that this is a Win 11 feature, not found in Win 10 but I could be wrong.

  • This is the problem with ASOBO. Almost 5 years later and they are still relying on a voting system to fix what they brake after an update.

  • Don't waste your time. I'm with an AMD card and I'm experiencing the same issue. It's most certainly a sim issue that won't resolve until Asobo get it fixed.

  • It seems many are not aware that the "End all tasks" function is available in the right click context menu. This saves a visit to the task manager to do the same thing. It has the same effect as the k

No doubt the fact that this menu item is disabled by default had led to this lack of use.

To enable.

Click Start, then Settings, then System.

On the RHS click "For developers"

Turn on "End Task"

No reboot required.

Next time a program does not close right click its icon in the status bar and click "End task"

Just tried this again, today, and it did not work. MSFS was still open. Then ran the batch  file, and it shut down.

This should be a quick fix. What's taking so long?

They are probably busy fixing 2024.

Right click taskbar select task manger then you can kill it there.

Can't check as its currently shutting normally for me. During my troubleshooting I uninstalled GSX. When I still had problems after several failed attempts to fix I decided to install GSX again and my next shutdown was normal. There are too many users affected by this that I agree with most this is an Asobo issue. I just fluked it with the GSX reinstall I guess.

The right click end task is just another option it seems.

The Jörg's gang has changed something in the core definitely.

Try to open the package reorder tool in experimental.

So it has nothing to do with Windows 11 update

Yep, I use GSX here and no issues with shut down.  Obviously we are on the same latest Airac as everyone else.

Did you install the City Update?
