For me I think this is the real litmus test for 2024 and my ability to start thinking of a move.  If it hits all your points above and the combination of the 777 and the sim are stable, no WASM crashes, CTD's etc then it will be a good gauge of both products stability.  If the 77 has a lot of the same issues as the 350 getting her feet wet in '24 that will also be a key leading indicator for me.

I'm excited to see how they do together at scale.

Exactly, you hit the nail on the head, well said !  I am still on MSFS 2020 and will migrate to MSFS 2024 after the PMDG products are "successful" in MSFS 2024.  My critical success factors are above in an earlier post.  Per my interests, the real question: is MSFS 2024 ready for the PMDG products and not the converse.  The same is true for Fenix.  I hear they run in MSFS 2024 but Support does not accept tickets and the MSFS 2024 environment is considered "experimental".  When these two vendors' products have the same status in MSFS 2024 as in MSFS 2020, then I will make the change but not before.

  • Of course it would not be PMDG without mentioning the price until release day. I'm guessing $77.72.

  • Not really. It’s called capitalism and free markets.   -B

As someone who uses airliners exclusively to mimic current real world ops, I think I might manage to pass up on this one.

Not enough interesting routes on operators in my area that I would fly.

I purchased the PMDG 777-300 ER, about 6 months ago. I flew it for awhile, and eventually stopped, lack of routes and airlines was the main reason. Now it is just the 737 mostly.

To hell with this libertarian poison. 😉 It's bad enough that PMDG releases a product on labour day. Isn't that a holiday in the U.S. as well?

But at least in your area you could do lots of AAL flights with the 777-200

Clap, clap, clap. I applaud PMDG. They'll have my money. But they wouldn't have got it if they'd made the existing 777 and 737 compatible with 2024 before they'd released this. Shameful stuff. It's legalised extortion...😂

How so? No one is forcing you to anything.

I think some people around here would be happier if there was news a meteor was going to hit the earth than the news of a PMDG release.

"We have run a full pass quality improvement over all sounds EXCEPT the engines- which are being replaced with entirely new recordings over the coming two months."

This is what CaptainSim used to do...just sayin'...(I hope I'm wrong...)

Pretty sure you are wrong here. I would trust their word on this one.

So I read over on Reddit that the engine sounds that are going to be released with the –200ER are all the same for all three engine variants. And that there won’t be a difference btw the PW, GE and RR sounds for 30 to 60 days when the new engine sounds come out. Is that true that all 3 engine types are sharing the same engine sound when it releases later today?

From the videos I've watched thus far, the engine sounds are different for each variant but they are not new recordings. They are what we had with the -200ER in P3D. The new engine recordings then get dropped in each variant one-by-one over the next month or two.

I fly different airlines all the time, one airline to me quickly gets boring.

Thanks for the info, I will hold off purchasing at least until that time… sounds are more Important to me than I‘d like to admit, and we‘re really blessed with Boris and Dave (from the Fenix team) having created such masterpieces for us to enjoy.

Yeah, I am not crazy about the sounds in the 777, many are waiting for Boris to redo them.

In case someone needs one of the literally hundreds of routes the 200 and 300 ER's fly...

This seems to be a pretty old listing, it still includes Delta, which retired its 200s in 2020.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.
