May 3, 20251 yr Author Just got back to my PC and popped off rebar in the BIOS. I will have a sim session and monitor my vram usage and see how it goes. Will report back if I see or feel any difference. Edit: Just had a quick flight at 1000 feet from EGLC to EGLL with FSLTL and ORBX London and perceived little difference. VRAM usage over London was around 85% and at Heathrow went up to 94% which was exactly the same as I was getting with rebar on, so, will continue to run rebar off for a while and see how the sim feels generally. But initial feelings are no difference whatsoever. Just ran the same flight again with rebar back on and indeed found around extra 3% to 4% VRAM usage from monitoring it. EGLL was running around 97% to 98% VRAM. May 3, 20251 yr Doesn't rebar need to be ON if you want to use frame gen? Or is that a thing of the past? Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

May 4, 20251 yr Do you really need NV Inspector to enable it in 2024 ? Both my pv’s hace ReBar enabled but I do not have NVI installed (as I do not use it). It's quite simple to understand really. 100%, we really need to be able to move on from having to implement endless tweaks and hacks to eek out better performance from desktop flightsims - hopefully the world has moved on from the FSX and P3D days where things now *should* just work by running MS's latest OS, installing the game, and double-clicking the icon. I suspect people got so used to having to do this that they actually now like fiddling with ever more complex software and hardware settings and community mods to give largely placebo effects for most people.

It will apply to your whole configuration (any app). Via NV Inspector, you can target MSFS only. Vincent B. May 4, 20251 yr I tried with it off and on. Doesn't really make any perceivable difference to me. I didn't do anything in the BIOS, I just tried with it disabled/enabled in the game profile in NVidia Profile Inspector. I've turned it back on now as that was the default selection. May 4, 20251 yr Rebar was default to off in my Asus bios when I built my current 5800x, 3080ti PC. I only even heard about the settings a few weeks ago. Experimented with it on and saw increased VRAM usage, enough so that I had to lower settings to maintain the same performance to avoid going over 12GB of VRAM. I went back and turned it off. Ryan

And turning it off via NVI doesnt work as long as it is enabled in the BIOS, so I also question those claiming that turning it off via NVI results in less VRAM usage.
