The problem with MSFS 2020 not fully shutting down on exit was not introduced by Asobo. It is a bug in the “Gaming Services” app that is produced by Microsoft itself. MSFS requires gaming services to

  • Looks like just a nav data update. I'm sure they are aware of the shutdown issue. It is hard to say if they will make any attempt to troubleshoot and fix it. I would imagine they are not at all happy

  • I am Furious with these Devs, aborting all support for FS2020. And now, introducing a New issue, And leaving it there.

Have you checked to see if there are any XBOX or Game Bar updates in the MS Store app? This problem has cleared up for me.

Yes, I manually checked for updates in the store and there were xbox and game bar updates available but they have made no difference even after a restart.

It is a bit inconvenient but it doesn't really bother me that much as long as I remember to shut it down manually.

Asobo knows the problem and the fix is in the next update.

I wasn’t able to find this announcement. So it is an Asobo issue? (Not a Game Services issue reported by others).

I’m glad Asobo don’t build cars.

Customer- “Hi. I brought my car in for an oil change yesterday and now the car won’t stop unless I disconnect the battery”.

Asobo - “We’ll fix it next time you need an oil change.”

You forgot the part where people say it is not Asobo's fault, it is the battery's fault. So, Asobo can't fix it and you need to replace your battery.

SU16 Beta fixes this.  Ergo SU16 Final should also if you eschew betas.
