  • If this get's TDS GTNxi support I'll buy it.  The way it reads in the manual is they want end users to do it.  No thanks!  That's ridiculous!  Every other aircraft dev integrates the PMS/TDS units.  A

Nice! Looks like another P3D developer that is entering the MSFS market.  From the comments in this P3D thread, it seems like they make decent planes?

We are in bizjet heaven!!! What a great time to be alive!

Honest question: what does this give me that I don't already have in the Flysimware 35A?

Yes, that is what I am wondering too, is it better?

The 3rd pic there looks like it uses the nasty original GNS530, and not the WT upgraded one.  Is that just a really old dev pic?

It is using the GNS - I get the feeling the devs really don't have a good grip on MSFS avionics right now.

Other possible Bugs I've spotted so far in just a startup and then a single T/O are the brakes don't work in '24 SU4 (perfectly forgivable is this is just a problem in SU4) [brakes are working now, not sure if I just needed to restart '24 a few time or if it's related to manually removing the ground elements on this flight - more investigation required] and in '20 enabling the AP in HDG mode after T/O lead to the plane overshooting and over-correcting so much it was triggering the stall warning - it's possible the real AP was literally that bad but first guess is it wasn't.

If they can sort the bugs and avionics it definitely has potential as an older, somewhat more basic and significantly faster version of the Learjet with what may be greater systems depth than the FSW (that needs a lot more investigation to say either way)

So I'm not sure I'd recommend it right now, but it's one to keep an eye on.

-- Edit --
there's actually a section in the manual on the use of the old GNS - TL;DR; the new one messed up the AP

At the time of this writing, there were very few third-party seamless options for replacing the
MSFS GNS 530 with a more advanced navigation system. We tested the Working Title GNS 530 that
comes with MSFS 2020 that is more elaborate, and it worked just fine. However, for some rea-
sons, the system interfered with the basic MSFS autopilot that is used in the GLJ Model 25 and
changed the behavior of some of the autopilot modes (the basic MSFS autopilot conforms better
to the autopilot installed in the real aircraft). The Working Title GNS 530 still remains an option
for users who can live with a slightly different autopilot.

-- Edit 2 --
I also notice that the license WILL NOT allow people to share mods that modify the avionics - unless the devs are going to provide their own versions with the TDS or PMS GTN and working weather radar that NEEDS to change.

Ah ok. Still a lot with over two weeks until payday 😉

Being old(er) with no kids does have it's advantages 🙂

Took it up for a hop last night.

I also ran into (no) brakes.  It uses hidden click-spots for many functions we would expect in an EFB.

It seems like systems are modeled with a bit more depth than the FSW, with things like some CBs and battery temp monitoring.  Manual is excellent, but seems focused on P3D. The flight model (from a very limited flight) seems great, with a feeling of inertia.  Panels and textures looked great.

Knowing the 35a, it was easy (and fun) to jump in and get it in the air.  Sounds were excellent.

However, I didn’t see any custom bindings (could have missed it?).  The wx radar was a static image, although I need to read up on it.

It seems to be different enough from the 35a that it warrants a try, and everything I tried besides GTN integration and brakes worked well for a VFR flight.  Seems like it needs work to fully integrate into MSFS.

Mark

Gonna pass on this one for now...quite satisfied with the 35A.

If it ever goes on sale I'll grab it just for collector's sake.

On the discord Flysimware site Headwind a rl Lear 35a pilot with 8000 hrs. He gives lots of info on how to fly the Lear. With often updates on the Lear 35a and Headwinds flying instruction I pass on the 25. And the book that is mention early in the post is a good read.

Agreed that sometimes the preview cycle gets obnoxiously long, but before spending 50 or 60 bucks on an add-on I at least like to see a few of the reviewers I generally trust take a look at it first so that I can hopefully make an informed decision rather than not having any real understanding of what I'm getting.

No reason to change that. There will be plenty of video reviews out within 24hrs to 7 days after release 😁👍

Agree. And from someone like IntoTheBlue or ReflectedReality or FlightDeck2Sim
