August 14, 2025Aug 14 I flew msfs 2020 without any issues or other problems yesterday evening, smooth and as good as ever! And this morning I was unable to start the sim! I have tried safe/normal mode, deleted community files, to no avail... The sim starts, but when the "blue bar" reaches about 50% the sim shuts down... I have tried everything, and I am totaly lost at the moment... Has anyone else experienced this? And what should I do? (I dont want to reinstall the whole sim...) Is there a way to fis this? Best regards Per
August 14, 2025Aug 14 It shuts down around fifty percent all the time? Could be the cache, or a corrupt file in the official folder, or a failure with your authentication. August 14, 2025Aug 14 Author Yes, after 50% everytime... (safe/normal mode, nothing helps) This strange thing is that I flew last evening and there no problems last evening... This occured from out of the blue this morning...
August 14, 2025Aug 14 No, that’s a real bummer! I’m flying 2020 right now and it’s all fine. Could it be a regional server thing? Are you all who are having problems using VPNs? Doubt it’s a global issue though. Hope you get it sorted- even if I’m OK now, who knows next time?
August 14, 2025Aug 14 no issues at my end maybe this link may help https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/667904-unable-to-start-msfs-2020-2024-works-fine/ I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg

Best regards Per I’d uninstall in NVDA app if you use it. A few months back this happened to me and it solved the issue immediately. Sim has flown flawlessly since.

August 14, 2025Aug 14 Author I am in Sweden... Maybe wait and try tonight again, and hope that is ok then. Its sooo strange since it worked perfectly yesterday evening. And this morning. Boom! Its impossible to launch msfs2020. What about if i try to "repair" msfs? In x-box app? How much of my settings/content do i loose in such a manouver?
August 14, 2025Aug 14 Are you running DX11 or DX12? Are you 110% positive Nvidia did not install the Nvidia App with the Nvidia drivers? What you are describing will happen 100% of the time if running in DX11 with the Nvidia App installed. Worth double checking? Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
August 14, 2025Aug 14 Author I choosed NOT to install the Nvidia App when i installed the driver... And i have always run the sim in DX11. I installed the latest Nvidia driver a few hours ago, and did not check the box for the Nvidia App... Could it install itself do you mean? Edited August 14, 2025Aug 14 by buspelle
