Did you DDU and 566.36?

No success... The only thing that i do to at least get in to the sim, is to delete Nvidia NGX file and start the sim in safe mode. Works only once. And only in DX12 mode... When i leave the sim and try to start it up again, the same thing happens... The sim kicks me out after loading 50% of the blue bar...

  • YES YES YES!!! 😃👍👍👍😃 FINALLY I got the sim to run again!!! When i rolled back to version 566.36 for the third time IT WORKED!!! Dont ask me how and why, but i got the sim running now!!! Fingers crosse

  • I’d uninstall in NVDA app if you use it.  A few months back this happened to me and it solved the issue immediately.  Sim has flown flawlessly since.

  • So you deleted current driver with DDU and installed 566.36 with no success?  If so a complete reinstall is in your future I suspect.  If not you’re missing a critical troubleshooting step IMO.  Good

Disabling hyperthreading in the bios fixed this issue for me.

Does that mean you used DDU and then installed the 566.36 driver?

No problem here. I fly in MS2024 most of the time, but today I cranked up MS2020 and it loaded and works fine as far as I can tell. Must be a server issue.

Finally got the sim up and running!!! 👍😃👍 Dont ask what and how i did...been working with this issue the last 12 hours...🙄 And suddenly, it worked! BUT, i can for some reason only run in DX12 mode... In DX11 I get kicked out...☹️ The sim runs fine now! So far...😬 But what is the exact difference between DX11 and DX12 in msfs 2020??? is it good/better in DX12? I dont see much difference anyhow... But what is the difference?

Best regards and thank you sooo much for all your help and engagement! 🌹

Try deleting your UserCfg.opt file and boot the sim. The file will be recreated by the sim but you will need to set your graphics settings the way you prefer it.
This worked for me last week.

OK.. just a few suggestions here..

Did you check the Event Viewer to see what the faulting module was? This will lead you down the right path....

Ive been recently having major issues with a forced windows update (which has affected many KB5062660) which for some reason doesn't certify NVIDIA GPU area when called on.. so get BSOD... im hoping you aren't affected by that..

But post your event viewer description and the ID number and we can go form there to help...

I got the sim running in DX12, but with less performance and stutters... And when i try to set the sim in DX11 mode, it crashes... Anyone know why that is?

Regards

Per

Sorry to hear about your issues its a real bummer when that happens.

A quick search brought this up from earlier this year: MSFS 2020 Crash To Desktop while loading [SOLVED] - Discussion Hub / General Discussion - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

Apologies if anyone else has already flagged this, but it seems this guy had a similar sort of problem. They had an issue with their antivirus, where the process remained active and caught the flightsimulator.exe and quarantined it on loading as if it was a virus. In that case I assume you would have to add the simulator to a white list

Anyway really hope you solve the problem, and I coudl add it was a really nice to see how members of theis community hhave come to you help from all over the the World.

What i have discovered so far, is that when i remove the file NGX file in NVIDA file in programdata, i manage to start the sim in safe mode, but not in normal mode... And after that the file i deleted in NVIDA, the NGX file is back again... Im going crazy! 😥

  • Author

And also... When i deleted my community folder, i can start the sim once... In normal mode. But when i shut the sim down and start it up again, i get kicked out...

I give up... With teras in my eyes... Dont know what to do. I have tried everything you guys have told me, and nothing seems to help... 😥😥😥
