Beyond ATC experiences...

It's not expensive, easy to use, and gets things mostly right flying airliners with simbrief routes. You rarely conflict with AI traffic which is absolutely the biggest immersion killer for me.

The competition does some things better, some things worse. There is no outstanding ATC product.

What I want is BATC merged with Radar Contact, and VFR thrown in, but this is fantasy.

  • You people make it all sound like it is completely hope- and usesless. It is the best ATC program available for MSFS at this point. By a wide margin. At least for Linepilots. And there is ST

  • Yeah, you can only run Early Access and use that as an excuse for so long to be fair.   If that was the case we could all say that MSFS is Early Access as we all get access to it long before all

  • I guess if you don't fly into controlled airspace and don't want to know about traffic advisories and weather updates and low visibility (SVFR), and separation services, and don't do flight following,

I tried say intention and beyond atc. I like beyond a lot more. And feels a lot more polished. Especially the app I like. Also the way it shows how to taxi. And auto reply can be really helpful sometimes. I find the way say intention does it is little bit like I have to find everything out myself.

BATC has VFR not too far away in their development roadmap.

I really suggest taking a look at the BeyondATC wiki if you have questions/problems etc., you'll also find a Discord link there. There's 40000+ customers on the BATC Discord and you'll get help quickly. Here's the link to the wiki: https://wiki.beyondatc.net/
Personally it works without any issues in 95% of my flights (airliner only flights), but it needs some time to get used to the flows and procedures, especially if you're not experienced on Vatsim. BATC tries to get as close as possible to the Vatsim experience if you will, so it's controlling *you* and not the other way around. I say this because I know some people just want some sort of ATC "companion" that will just give them any runway they want etc., but for that I suggest other tools.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

What people also kind of ignore is that BeyondATC is still considered Early Access by the developers.

Every new version that is coming out is still prefaced with EA to indicate this.

I mean 15 months of "Early Access?"

Doesn't SI have a release train and an early access train so one train is deemed current while the other is considered sill in Dev?   FSHUD has a Beta and Prod build.  BATC is perpetual Early Access.

I mean calling something early access for over a year and never seeming to get to a release build doesn't obfuscate the issues and you can't continue to sweep everything into an all encompassing "Early Access" to offset the issues.

Just my .02 on all the "Early Access" releases.  At some point you have to draw the line and call it production.

BATC's "early access", is way better than every other ATC now available, no matter what it is called.

I've personally been very happy with FSHUD since I finally dropped PF3 after over 15 years of using Dave March's programs but respect your opinion.

Definately. I don't find that at all unusual. That's how early access works. Around 2 years of EA then a beta phase and then release is quite normal.

Baldur's Gate 3 was EA for 3 years.

Ehehe, no problem for me but 2 years , then beta, then... New version of flight simulator at the door ... repeat, wash & rinse...

Me: "Going around"

BATC: "No!"

Me: "Missed approach?"

BATC: "No!"

To cut a long story etc. I went around, and that was that.

FWIW, I also have Pilot2ATC (versions 2 and 3) as well as Say Intentions.

And no phone number to call either... what sad times are these 😉

Given how long BATC has been in "early access" it's nothing but a scam at this point, to get customers to pay extra for the "experimental" version.   What a great marketing idea, just label all new software as "early access" and the pressure is off the developers.   They can take a year or two (or three) to finish the product and if any paying customer complains about the lack of progress, they can hide behind the shield of "early access" and ignore the complaints.

It seems to me that BATC is regressing.   Last few weeks I've had crashes, lockups, frozen aircraft that had to be manually removed to keep things moving and on my last flight, I couldn't hear incoming messages and on approach, ATC just forgot about me and let me land.   So yeah, BATC is probably the best aftermarket ATC addon for FS2024 but that bar is set so ridiculously low as to be meaningless.

I already adressed the length of EA in general. It's nothing out of the ordinary.

Nice try.

Just keeping it real.   But I get it, you love your BATC.
