April 29Apr 29 I really do hope it's worth the hype! One thing I noticed in a preview video which bothered me was that they had it all powered down and the ailerons were drooped down like an Airbus with no hydraulic power. The 757 doesn't do this in RL because the controls are still cable operated (hydraulically assisted) so would stay wherever the yoke is. April 29Apr 29 Q3 2026 is fine by me if they use the extra time to get the flight deck details and handling right. Tom's point about the ailerons is exactly the kind of thing that matters on a 757. I'd rather wait a bit longer and get those small technical details correct than have it rushed out just because the market is impatient.
April 29Apr 29 I’m sorry but BlueBird, just let us know when you put it out/up for sale. Don’t need anything else. A. April 29Apr 29 It’s definitely looking great! Seems like they’re mostly in the PMDG ballpark for pricing, depending on how you look at it 👍 Meanwhile, I’m still satisfied with the Flight Factor over in X-Plane, so I’m in no particular hurry for this one 😎 The BlueBird is a relative bargain as I paid $99 for the XP FF back in 2018ish.
April 30Apr 30 Author Here is the update that Bluebird Simulations posted on Reddit. They entered phase 2 of their beta testing. The last phase of beta testing is phase 3. Quote Hi all. Just doing my quarterly Reddit ramble. I’ll really try to keep it short this time. The biggest news is that as of yesterday, we have entered our stage 2 out of 3 beta testing phase. This is the biggest phase of beta testing as all the systems ( minus the EFB which is 50% complete ) are in beta testing. We are getting some great feedback from the testers and so far the performance on their systems has been excellent. Stage 3 will be a MUCH shorter beta process as it focuses mainly on the EFB and cosmetic areas of the 757. Once we enter stage 3, then a release date announcement will follow a few weeks after. We’re still easily on track for release in Q3 of this year ( no not 2045 ). We’ve also finally opened up our Discord server to the public. Feel free to join here https://discord.gg/FVAuMcEQZZ We’ll post regular updates and also do our best to answer questions. I want to again thank everyone for their patience and support. I am humbled to see that the 757 is still one of the most anticipated aircraft based on the recent Navigraph survey. The team has poured their heart and soul into this project and the 757 will be just the beginning for BlueBird. I’ll end it with some FAQ’s for the 757.😊 Which variants will be included and what will the base package look like? The initial release will include the 200 ( RR and PW ) with the 300 coming soon after as a free update. Additionally, we aim to incorporate both winglet versions and the standard wingtip (non-winglet) models of the 757. The passenger version will be priced at $80 for all variants and for 2020/2024. As for the freighter variant, we plan to offer it as a paid expansion pack. This pack will include specialized models and systems tailored specifically for the freighter variant. Moreover, we intend to introduce system enhancements that will be provided free of charge to our base package customers, benefiting both the passenger and freighter variants. Will the BlueBird 757 be released on Xbox? We do have plans to release the 757 on Xbox, but it will not be released at the same time as the PC version. Will we have the option for different avionics suites on the 757 in the future e.g. FDFS or LDS? We have plans to recreate the flat panel display system (FPDS) on the 757, but we currently have no plans to develop the large display system (LDS) for the 757. Please keep in mind that neither of these systems will be available at release and will be added in future updates/expansions. Will the 757 have failures? The initial release will have some failures. However, a more comprehensive failure system will come after release. One of the reasons we modelled so many circuit breakers (over 200) was specifically for failures. What features will the 757 have? We’ll publish a full initial release feature list of the aircraft sometime in June. Keep in mind that we plan on adding many more features after the release. EDIT: The features after release will be mainly related to failures and some eye candy updates. The current feature list very comprehensive and will be published in June. This includes but not limited to a fully functional FMS custom coded from the ground up with full LNAV /VNAV capability. What version of MSFS will the 757 be compatible with? The initial release of the 757 will be for FS2020 and will be compatible with FS2024. The FS2024 compatible version will be fully functional from a systems stand point but will be missing some of the native features of the 2024 such as the interactive exterior panels and walk around mode. A fully native FS2024 version will come at some point after release as a FREE update. https://www.reddit.com/r/flightsim/comments/1sym9ck/bluebird_757_update_weve_entered_stage_2_and_our/ i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
May 1May 1 That many years in development and it does not even come with full failures on release? Pfff...
May 1May 1 I find it more odd to be an MSFS-focused release when MSFS2024 is the current, supported sim. But hey, as long as it works i will surely like it. Now where's that 767? :P CASE: Fractal Terra Silver CPU: AMD R5 7800X3D 5.0Ghz RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 GPU: nVidia RTX 4070 Ti SUPER · SSDs: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 PCIe · PNY XLR8 CS3040 2TB M.2 PCIe · VIDEO: LG-32GK650F QHD 32" 144Hz FREE/G-SYNC · MISC: Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Joystick + Throttle Quadrant · MSFS2024 · Windows 11
May 1May 1 I can't help feeling the length of development simply reflects how long it takes to develop a complex airliner from scratch with a small team. Originally it was going to be 'semi-complex' until they realised MSFS had shifted the goal posts and that space for not quite study level aircraft in previous sims had disappeared. They haven't had the advantage of PMDG with a well established code base or Fenix being backed by ProSim. Good luck to 'em.
