New FDE Tool - Beta Testing

Featured Replies

  • Commercial Member

Hey! I am coding a new FDE Tool for MSFS 2020 and 2024.

This will be able to fine tune the FDE very easily. I need beta testers, so any interested ones can send me an email to:

fsprgrs [at] gmail [dot] com or DM me.

Devs are welcome as well.

Thanks
Federico

Search assist answers:

In FS2024, FDE stands for Flight Dynamics Engine, which is responsible for simulating the flight characteristics and behavior of aircraft within the simulator. It determines how an aircraft responds to controls and environmental factors, contributing to the realism of the flight experience.

Hey this sounds interesting, you might garner more interest if we could get an idea of how your tool works? Perhaps some pictures? What makes it easier than using the existing tooling in-sim? Etc

Hmmm... Sounds tasty 😄

Thanks, well it is in development still. But basically is a tool targeted for devs and final users to fine tune the FDE in a very simple intuitive way. You can also check the changes very easily in the sim.

What existing tooling in-sim?   You mean config edits to scalars or something like that?

More or less, I'm referring to the SimObjects Editor that aids in building a flight model.

I'm going to start a campaign to get Google available in Austria.  It's not fair that you don't have access to search these things in a few seconds, using a single-field search box!

Chants:-

Google for Austria!

Google for Austria!

then you won't need it.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I don't know about Austria, but when I Google "FDE" in Germany, the first three hits I get are:

Fachverband des deutschen Eisenwaren- und Hausrathandels

Freunde der Eisenbahn

Full Disk Encryption

Nothing on the first page is about flight dynamics. It's completely fair to ask.

I think he meant Fundación Dental Española, but since we are talking aviation, FDE can refer to several meanings:

if you ask the ultimate authority on abbreviations in aviation, you will find the definitive answer:

https://www.proairpilot.com/faa-abbreviations-list.html

FDE Fault Detection and Exclusion
FDE Flight Data Entry
FDE Flight Deck Effect

your choice.
