it's bloatware for someone who only want a Fly-by view and even that is not worth the bloat for me, and I'm sure many others.

Why do keep doing this?  It's as if what you like must be what ALL like ... repeat and rinse.  When did more flexibility become "bloatware"?  And you skipped my point entirely, it's not about YOU (believe it or not) ... 10,000 content providers will get what we (the entire community) want sooner than MS/Asobo simply because MS/Asobo don't have 10,000 people working on product requests and features.  Yes, we may have to pay for it ... is that your real issue?

Is this also and good tool for replays?

Yes, but it doesn't work with the built-in replay. 320SimPilot covers this in his well-made review from 35:00 onwards (time marker set in the video linked below):

Would have been great to be able to use both especially  for things like flybys and tower views and takeoff and landings.

You can, you just have to make sure CP assignments aren't replicated in MSFS 2024 assignments.  If all you want from CP is "Flyby or Tower" then don't assigned another other control in CP and you don't need to change anything with your existing MSFS 2024 profiles.

but I have spent to much time setting my planes

Yes, but that demonstrates the poor MSFS 2024 UI because you "spent to much time" ... you could have accomplished the same and more with CP in a much shorter period of time.

But why?  The 2024 cameras are already overkill.  IOW not needed IMO.

Because it's not overkill for many others ... sorta like saying why buy PMDG 737 when one exists in MSFS.  Third party content exists for those that want features and flexibility ... just like why we have 10,000+ content providers for MSFS 2024 ... provide features and flexibility that MS/Asobo don't and may or may not ever provide.

Sorry but this camera stuff is so 80's to me.

But I might be on the ground exploring a //42 scenery as the plane flys off into the distance.

haha ... I loved the 80's ... great period of innovative music.  FS3 was first version to introduce external views (circa 1988) ... so yeah 80's. 🙂

Great opening tune! ("All the colors are changin'") Do you happen to know the title and author / band?

Yes, I love this band called KOOP, they are Swedish.
The title is called "Relaxin at club fusion", from their 2002 CD "Waltz for Koop".
Actually, all their disks are excellent.

A previous poster said it was not possible to keep both.

That is why I asked the question in the first place.

New Update out for Chase Plane:

2025.52.0.21

  • Fixed various CTDs and crashes in various areas of the codebase.
  • Fixed an issue where the control assignments would not be removed correctly during installation. (if you are seeing issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling ChasePlane).
  • Fixed an issue where ChasePlane would change variables it shouldn't be changing (popping circuit breakers in the Fenix aircraft).

Speaking of controllers, one choice is a programmable keypad.

Here are a zillion cheap or expensive button boxes on Etsy, about 6 pages worth of choices:

 https://www.etsy.com/search?q=computer+button+box&ref=pagination&page=1

The one I use is something like this:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1502162573/racepro-12-function-pc-button-box?

The 3 metal toggle switches stay where they are at when released, and can be used like "shift" keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shf). Thus nine buttons arranged 3x3 become thirty-six buttons all arranged 3x3.

Arranging 3x3 makes them easy to use as the keypad on a keyboard. Only easier to find blind (such as in VR).

I use this one for years, bought on Amazon.
32 programmable keys.
Very handy.

You mean describing how an experienced user of CP in 2020 for several months concluded what I used it for was not worth the time of installation and setup?  That, for me, turns it into bloatware.  One person's bloatware is another person's favorite addon:  it's relative.  MS/A have been preoccupied dealing with much more critical issues than the fluff FB and T views represent.  When the dust clears on other more basic things perhaps they'll get there.  If not, there's always CP 😉

I understand you don't want it.  I get that you find it to not be for you.  It's fully understood.   You don't want it and have no interest in it.

I might like to get it but please don't feel that you are being asked to be involved in my decision to do so nor anyone else's.  Because it's already well understood that you don't want it and have no interest in it.

It's likely that everyone here is going to be really OK with that whether they are an existing or potential consumer of this product.

I've read above in several posts that you are making it clear that you are not interested in this product.  That's really fine and perfectly OK.  its not difficult for anyone to get their head wrapped around the concept.

This thread is probably not about the community trying to convince you, Noel, to purchase this product when you are not interested in doing so.  Really that's not what anyone here is trying to do from what I can tell.  I certainly would be really at peace if you passed on getting it.

So it would be really totally cool if you could get behind that and let the conversation get around to what the positives are for new users who might be interested in it like myself.  The point has been made several times that you don't want it and I wouldn't expect you to to get it because it has been made perfectly clear that you are not interested in it.

Your opinion has been stated and made clear and has been fully considered. Thank you for your input.  I understand you don't want it.  I get that you find it to not be for you.  It's fully understood.

The subsequent replies given were responses to those on the fence.  The thread is full of accolades and I merely provided a different POV from an experienced user to those who might have similar orientations as myself:  doesn't have a need for additional cameras beyond FB/T views; it's a non-trivial effort to change over to CP's system and some cost involved.  That's all, nothing more nothing less.
