A2A Aerostar 600

Featured Replies

Do you all know if A2A products ever go on sale in the marketplace? I really like the looks of this plane but not sure I want to kick out 50 bucks. To anyone who owns it what are your impressions? Thanks!

I own it. I would have happily paid $100

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

It is an excellent aircraft and I would certainly recommend it. I have the Blacksquare Baron too but after a couple of weeks I found myself back in the Aerostar. I just really like A2A's implementation -- the flight model and the maintenance and failure features.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

I am in the same boat as Cognita

There is a smalll group that do not like the plane. Too ugly. Too old. Something to consider.

Blacksquare bonanza or Baron or combo is worth looking into.

Can't go wrong with either product. Well worth the money.

The Aerostar is my personal favorite.

Oh and no usually not on sale.

Aerostar is excellent.  I prefer the Black Square stuff, but the AEST is a great plane, awesome sounds, flight model.  It's A2A hehe - it's well worth the cost.  It's not a carenado lol

I like vintage things and I think the Aerostar looks awesome I think I will get it very soon.

I didn't buy it because I'm not interested on such forgotten airplanes, but after few YT videos and discussions on this topic, it seems that the quality is reduced compared to the "old" A2A P3D airplanes.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

You can NEVER go wrong with any A2A product, 50 bucks is a pretty good buy if you ask me. The aerostar is kinda weird looking but A2A modeled it really well. Again. Anything A2A is top notch.....

ROG MAXIMUS X HERO, Intel Core i7 8700K, 32 GB's 3200 RAM, Gigabyte RTX3080,

When it comes to smaller airplanes, A2A is pretty much the gold standard for MSFS. Go get it, it is worth it. Blacksquare is also great, and in principle I like their plane models better (I prefer Beechcraft over Piper). However, There are some details where A2A still beats even Blacksquare:

- An even more detailed physics model. Blacksquare is brilliant with respect to the engines, but in all other aspects I think A2A is still a bit ahead.

- A more comprehensive walk-around. In A2A models, you can visually check fuel tanks and oil.

- What I definitely like much more in A2A models is state preservation. Blacksquare only does a selective state preservation, while A2A keeps more or less everything. To me, that makes a big difference: There is actually a point in going through a detailed checklist before starting the engines because you may have left the airplane in an odd state after your last flight. And why Blacksquare doesn't preserve the state of engine and pitot covers escapes me. If you let an airplane stand for a while without it, chances for failures of specific systems can be much higher.

I love A2A but known icing will ground you. In contrast, BS Duke and Baron prevail!

They had a small 10% discount over black friday/christmas for the MSFS addons. The old P3D addons (which remain excellent! 🙂 ) were a healthy 25% off.

I can't remember seeing more than 10% at any time for the MSFS ones, though. So since that works out to only $4.99, do yourself a favor and spend that little bit extra. The addons are incredibly well done and trust me - you'll forget about the $5 as soon as you get in the air (probably sooner).

I have most of the "old" A2A P3D airplanes. Extremely well done, for sure.

Other than the fact that the Civilian Mustang is only available in P3D, I never choose to fly them there.

Have any specific references? AFAICT, the MSFS ones are at least as good.

Yea, I really wish they would undertake a more capable aircraft, something turbocharged, something that can be flown into icing. They do an excellent job -- I agree that Blacksquare makes excellent addons but I agree with qqwertz that A2A is much more comprehensive in their overall modeling and that makes the aircraft feel more alive and engages me much ore with it.

There is aftermarket deice system that could have been modeled in Aerostar. But Scott dismissed that notion and proffered to keep Aerostar as it is. I only hope there something else A2A pipeline that could potentially make all weather airframe !
