not a concern, but it’s a real clue as to how demand for 2020 has cratered.

I think this is also pretty standard strategy for older versions of games. 2020 is now approaching 6 years since release so reduce the price significantly and see if some people will pick it up and try it, and likely a percentage of them like it enough to buy 2024 and stay with it. I would expect to see more of these in the coming months. They don't have to reduce the price of their flagship product to try to get more users.

Yes worth it 💯 i actually am flying more so in 2020 as i have it looking and performing great.

I have a high end system also.

And i have 2024 but i keep firing up 2020 lol

Probably many people are buying msfs at $24 because in the last few days there are more users in 2020 than in 2024 according to data from simplayerstats.😜

Even long (long) before it, while some folks here, I know, can even go further back:

I recall there was intense debate between FS9 and FSX users.

Nonetheless, we still have FS9 users around right here…

Some critically acclaimed and well loved AAA games go for $5 on Steam after a while. I wouldn't take this as a bad omen, if I were you.

They just aren't that different side by side. Stare long enough at any 2 similar objects and you'll start to see subtle differences. I don't do much of that.

This is a bit of an extreme example but go compare the grand canyon between the two sims and see if you keep that opinion. Heck, just compare any of the trees!

Clearly not!

I mean there are so many differences and improvements been the two - not even subtle. Things like the ground mesh resolution being an order of magnitute higher in 2024.  Not to mention a huge overhaul of the lighting.   The clouds aren't that much better I will give you that.   Also, why would it just be about visuals. 2024 has a significant upgrade of the flight dynamics engine, with integrated computationl flight dynamics. The audio engine was improved to be consistantly DVD rate (48kHz, instead of a mixture of 16, 24 and 44.1kHz in 2020).

But yes, if you don't stare at it too long, they both look the same..... 😉

I think it's a case of confirmation bias as to his decision to stay with 2020 😉  I mean, there is literally nothing wrong with anyone deciding to stay with the old sim.  It's just that so many 2020 die-hards make these silly statements, as if to justify their decision to themselves.

How would you possibly know that it was due to a user error or his incompetence?   What a nasty, ridiculously unjustified comment to make.  I seem to remember threads from you not that long ago where you were having problems and blaming the addon .... 😄

Pretty envious of new customers now jumping on a $24 priced MSFS2020.

The state of the sim post SU16 is leaps and bounds better than my initial $100+ dollar release purchase in 2020. 

Great visuals, great performance and a vast heathy catalogue of ironed out now discounted as well third party addons over the past 6 years.

$24 is a steal especially for VR users who finally wanna give it a go! 

Even through all the bugs and disappointments MS/Asobo put us through. Overall Its been a great 6 year roller coaster as a day one buyer.

Especially when you can come to terms with the reality of ATC just not being a priority for the new platform at all.🤣😂
