The ONE thing I currently miss most in 2024 that was in 2020

Featured Replies

The option to save during a flight was incredibly useful in MSFS 2020. I hope it makes a comeback or gets restored in MSFS 2024.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

I normally use FCR to record a bit before quitting the sim, then reload the recording and 'take control of plane'.

That's true... Seems they forgot about this, because it shoould not be too difficult to program it for MSFS 2024.

Best regards,
Holger

ATC that actually works (although 2020 wasn't brilliant, it did actually work for VFR).

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

An ATC window that didn't bog down the performance.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Technically the ability to save in flight still exists in FS2024, though it's obfuscated. I guess they hid it since it had a lot of problems (in 2020 as well) with not everything getting saved (avionics, etc.)

I've tested it and it works. I believe you need filename extensions set to visible in Windows if you don't have it that way already.

It even saves the state of the wear-and-tear system which normally isn't persisted for free flight, so that's neat.

1.  Specular highlights on the water - what happened to them?  They looked spectacular.

2.  Instant load back into the cockpit without waiting for it to redraw.  Noticed the external objects were also taking time to redraw as well on AvAngels last video when she was going from inside to outside the aircraft.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

The hangar views are the only thing I would carry over if I could. The option to pan the camera around and sit in the cockpit before choosing the aircraft. I miss that.

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

when usuing 2 monitors and changing the views on the second monitor in 2020 you could see the changes as you made them now on 2024 it is gues work because you cannot see the changes as you make but requires you to do over and over in the ad

Can you post an example from 2020 of what you mean?

in 2020 running 2 monitors you go to experimental and add your new window on thw second monitor. then your choices are lateral, vertical, and roll to change the views on the second monitor and as you change them you can see the changes as you do them . but in 2024 that second monitor does not come back for viewing as you change the options , so you have to guess at changes over and over to get a perfect view on the second monitor

Live weather was not 'nuked'

It has been improved since 2020. Not by much.

How do I bind keyboard shortcut keys in MSFS 2024 to start and stop recording?
