BATC IFR Callsign via Simbrief

Featured Replies

I am a satisfied user of BATC. The only thing I am having trouble with is assigning a callsign in Simbrief that is used by BATC AI to call me.

Example: I want to fly as Ryanair 123 (RYR123). what do I do in Simbrief? I fill the fields:

Airline: RYR
FLight Number: 123
ATC Callsign: RYR123

After starting BATC I expect to be called Ryanair123 (RYR123).

BATC however calls me RYR123 123 „Ryanair one three nine one three nine“.

I tried several combination to convince the AI to call me RYR139 but it did not work.

What am I doing wrong?

I simply fill in the Airline (ICAO) code and Flight number on Simbrief as you mention above but do not enter the ATC Callsign.

BATC will use the Airline Code + Flight Number for your callsign.

Don't fill in the "ATC callsign" part.   Just complete the RYR for airline, and 123 for the numbers.  Leave the ATC call sign alone (it's for when you're flying GA and don't have an ICAO call sign), then generate the plan.

Works perfect for me.

Disagree, currently in flight DLH2525 with callsign DLH2ET which BATC correctly loads, but for the OP there is no point in entering the flight number as ATC callsign and is likely causing the issue.

I am afraid it does not work. AI continues to say „Rere 139 139“ . IT does not even know „RYR„ for Ryanair.

Does anyone knows if say I want to fly GA and use Piper N2163 instead airline callsign. What do I fill up in simbrief?

This will help you get your callsign correctly: https://wiki.beyondatc.net/knowledge-base/callsign/

I am afraid it does not help - I did it that way - Airline RYR / Flight Number 139 - ATC Callsign RYR139 (or leave it empty - then it fills with default value) and BATC calls me "Rere139 139" - But I can live with it - maybe it is only on my system.

Definately. You can see what BATC will call you on the bottom right of the UI once you have loaded the flightplan.

I've just loaded the same flight number on my end, with just "RYR" in the airline ICAO box of simbrief, and "123" in the code box.

BATC shows (and reads) my call sign as "Ryanair 123".

So this is the correct procedure and there must be an issue at the OP's end.

Just leave the first two call sign boxes empty, and lower down on the Simbrief FP page, enter your registration in the "Registration" box.

BATC then calls you by your registration.

(This is how I use Simbrief 90% of the time).

BATC does not use GA type names. You will just be called “November” and your call sign. Wish they would add that option.

I've actually been having trouble lately where BATC calls me an Airbus no matter what I put in.

This is new so something may be going on with the latest updates.

I am not new to BATC and this has never occurred before.

MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

My issue is that it addresses me as five ten hotel sierra, instead of five one zero hotel sierra.

It likes to shorten to just 510S. It will get fixed one day. I hope. 😀

Here too

Used BATC for first time in a while yesterday and it added 'Airbus' in front of my otherwise correct call sign...I was flying a Boeing.

I solved my Problem now - created a new flight in Simbrief and did not touch the field "ATC callsign" - now it worked ! One cannot correct the entry after inserting something in it - maybe the old entry is saved anywhere and it gets confused.

Cheers the help mates!
