Phenom 300 soon? (released 18 May 26)

Slightly off topic but since it's been brought up; the PC12 is excellent these days...

I have the same experience between the PC12 and Phenom 300 as in that I'm actually at the controls of the plane.

Maybe I need to have more hours in the Sovereign+ to get it but to me those controls feels generic (mayby that is actually true for the real plane as well)

With the Phenom I feel I'm actually operating the plane. Funny that I'm now missing the passenger "interaction" in the Sovereign+. It's not a huge deal but it just one additional feedback channel for when flying that the Phenom can give.

I think some simmers are really getting carried away - at the end of the day we're sitting in a chair in front of a PC - not even the highest end addons are close to actual flying. This addon cost les

"Silly"? Really? He may well be a great guy and fun to know in person, but personal styles and all that. I have a VERY hard time watching him for more than a few minutes, without thinking - could you

  • Another video was posted an hour ago.  bit more than the 45 second 'cinematic' one above. Lot's of views of the nice eye candy.  Looks great!

Absolutely.

I meant to tag @UrgentSiesta and tell him that too. It's my most flown T-P now. Paradoxically it now flies beautifully 😎

Interesting! Must be like me with the Kodiak vs the BS Caravan 😁🤙

I always smile with these the Phenom doesn't handle correctly claims. Just use a XBOX controller and she flys and handles like a dream.

Digital is as digital does is my motto.

I always smile when you suggest everyone should use an Xbox controller for better control in the simulator 😄

I wonder why they don't use Xbox controllers in Level D full motion simulators?

Also, I like the medium turbulence setting best for the Phenom.

I did, (Honeycomb Echo controller) and it was god-awful for rudder control. Practiced everyday for nearly a month before returning it.

Since I already owned an Xbox wireless controller that I've used for years in other games I already knew what to expect but I wanted to try anyway.

Unless you were born with one in your hand or just possess some weird talent, a controller has such low resolution that it's difficult to use with any game that requires precision.

The trick is autorudder so I mainly steer with the stick. And yea you need to practise. Raul used one for the last patch.

I have one that I use for the Gunners seat in the DCS Apache. Works GREAT!

But wouldn’t fly anything but War Thunder with a controller.

It seems if you land firm in a crosswind, it has the tendency to throw you side to side, even if it's a light crosswind.

I'm wondering if this is basically a compromise to deal with poor ground handling in MSFS. Since you don't really flare with the Phenom as much as you pitch up and fly it into the runway, firming up the suspension may cause bounces or other weird behavior. I've dealt with the same issue in higher crosswinds, but I have yet to have a wing strike (even though it sometimes looks like I should have gotten a wing strike!)

I've read all the literature surrounding the AC system, but I still for the life of me don't understand how I'm up at cruise, with the shades closed, and still can't cool the back down lower than 76F with everything on high and the AC set low.

Try switching to a different livery and then back... it's mentioned in the manual that this "resets" some of the tablet functionality. What you're experiencing definitely sounds like a bug that a few others are experiencing.

And yes, too many of the passengers are just ridiculously picky. I had one VIP's rating drop all the way to 1% on a perfectly normal flight with no issues and a solid landing rating.

Not sure how many "VIP's" you've had to deal with in real life, but this sounds pretty realistic to me! You are basically dealing with a millionaire/billionaire toddler who is used to getting everything they want on a silver platter. Anything that isn't perfect is your fault, because you are the only one they can blame!

For me, it's also that I have a small amount of 'potentiometer noise' on my throttle axes. In planes with detents, the modelled levers in the cockpit sit nicely and don't move. In the Phenom they jitter around and, as I use TrackIR, are often in my view

I've found the FADEC system handles this nicely though... even if the throttle is slightly off, the power numbers are usually dead on or within 0.1-0.2% of what the target should be. You can use the power numbers instead of looking down at the throttle as well... as you pull back the throttle after takeoff for instance, you'll notice the power status on the MFD changes from TO to CLB along with the optimal power setting. Get close to these target numbers and the FADEC seems to handle the rest.

Yes, I agree. The aircraft does respect the detents, and FADEC mode is set accordingly.

But the real aircraft has detents and, as plenty of other aircraft addons have implemented similar detents, I'm just surprised that FSR (who chase high detail level in most areas) have not.
