What airports do you feel lack quality scenery for Prepar3D?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've just come back to P3D from a long hiatus and discovered that there is almost no third-party development for P3D anymore. I used to do some scenery development work, so I've been considering trying to start a new P3D project to still provide some development for this sim. The main question I want to ask is --------

What airports do not yet have quality or currently accurate scenery for P3D that you would like to see brought to the simulator?

I am in no way am committing to developing anything, especially since I am sure development tools have changed since I last played around with them, I am more so just curious to see what the community feels should be developed.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

My wishlist for payware quality airports for P3D5 would be: KSMF, KOAK, KGEG, KBOI, KSTL, KMKE, KMSN, KPIT, KJAX, KDET, KFAT and KPVU to name a few..

@Vapor , welcome back.

MK Studios EIDW Dublin is very good but lacks the third runway - 28R / 10L. Many would be delighted to see that released.

Manchester EGCC has had two piers added to T2. A new version of that popular airport would also be appreciated.

I am very slowly working on a YSWS for P3D. It is a large project, and I have to be careful I make it achievable in the time I have free. Plus I am learning a lot of it for the first time in Blender.

At this point I don't really care if the airport is out of date. Because I know it will never be updated for P3D.

Any Air force bases Atlas Air flies into would be cool, such as Travis, March AFB, or Dover. Guam or Kadena I think is in Okinawa. Military bases seem to be the underserved market for sceneries.

Always fun to be flying the troops home for leave.

A nice Calcutta airport (VECC) or Kittilä (EFKT) would be nice 🙌

Personally, I think that in order to keep P3D relevant, it needs to evolve with major international hubs that come on line. Two that come to mind are the new Badgerys Creek Airport that will be Sydney's main gateway before long, and also Dubai World Central.

Very good point and good suggestions!

My vote is for KVNY one of the busiest general and business aviation airports in the US.

My vote goes to HECA. A good rendition of Cairo would be very nice, as it is an important hub in Africa.

Personally, I would love to see a quality version of KOSH. I would pay good money for that.

I find it surprising that in all of the years that FSX and P3D have been around, nobody ever made a rendition of this airport that is better than default.

All I've been able to find is a couple old very minor improvements to it for FSX and that's it.

A cool thing about this thread is that it’s bought forth evidence that there is still a number of amigos still using the sim. Love it.
