  1. I find that landing on the parallel taxiways saves time taxiing to the gate.... Bill
  2. BillCusick

    Thanks, Jim

I agree. I suspect that he's one of those sado whatsits with a big whip.....crack...crack...ouch Thanks Jim ! Regards Bill
  3. Richard.. What a great post ! Your enthusiasm is pretty obvious - so much that I'll have to look into this. I just love the NGX, and the FSL 'bus. I think that it would be an ideal system for them. How about flying the A2A Cherokee or the JF Hawk 'locally'. Would that be as realistic I wonder ? Regards Bill
  4. I don't know any more than you all, but I've got a feeling....certain 'people' have been, shall we say, a little more 'absent' than usual from the forum... FSL have 'mentioned' that they are making efforts to release their A320 for P3d before the holiday season...I wonder... With all the complaints re OOMs, and a really 'heavy' A320 on the system, well...maybe. My credit card is going to take a bashing...what if both arrive at the same time..? Wowee ! Regards Bill
  5. Peter... I'd like to thank you for the clearest explanation I've seen yet regarding SimConnect. I've made a note of it. (I fly the NGX regularly). Missed you at Cosford this year. Regards Bill
  6. Yes - a real aircraft. Mostly flying in the dark, over hostile territory, avoiding flak, carrying high explosives, in a very noisy aircraft, for over 6 hours. It really makes me wonder how 'they' did it, at great risk to themselves. Thanks for posting. Regards Bill
  7. Further to my post... All my aircraft are now flying on their side. Is this important ? When they dump fuel, will it go sideways ? Regards Bill
  8. I tried it. Something went 'BANG'. Ooops. Regards Bill
  9. Thanks Petraeus. I'll have to remember that for next time. Regards Bill
  10. Phil.. Thanks Phil. Nice to meet you too. It wasn't ideal conditions for a comfortable conversation under those noisy Comet's flaps. Delighted to meet you. I am rather disappointed to find at these gatherings that most of the simmers that I meet have never heard of Avsim. I often have to correct their lack of knowledge.... Ray.. Same here. Probably see you again next year. But I'll be travelling by train I suspect. I had a pleasant chat with Dave Barrington. It was interesting to be able to chat with a RW 737 driver. I saw you later deep in conversation with him. Did you get a few tips ? You were right - the M6 wasn't as bad, but was still bad... ..Stumbled through the door at 1600. I was also fortunate to be able to chat with Mark from Just Flight re their Hawk T1. Rich was a mite busy, I wanted to thank them both for their efforts re the aircraft. :Applause: I have wanted a good Hawk for P3d for some time. It has always been my 'dream' aircraft for my local airfield scenery. Regards Bill
  11. I cannot help but marvel at those who build these things in their homes. However I feel that you are then stuck with that aircraft model - I like to be able to switch from a Cherokee 180 to a 'bus, or a F16, and to... It wouldn't be very easy to 'plug in' a joystick if you wished to change planes, would it ? (or drop a few knots from Mach .7 to 160 Kts) One can dream... Regards Bill
  12. I was spending most of my FS5.1 time (or was it FS98 ?) on programming (with MASM, FSASM and BGLComp) then. I didn't like having to remove the yoke to check on my latest 'object'. So I got familiar with just using the keyboard. Still use it now occasionally, but it's less hassle with the T16000 on my desk....it is ideal for the A320-X and my 'other' two 'buses from Aerosoft. I do occasionally install the CH Yoke for the NGX and the Cherokee 180, but the 'bus, and the JF T1 Hawk are my favourites in P3d. .. and the 'new' 'bus for P3d is expected shortly.... Regards Bill
  13. Let's see now... I wonder if I reach Mach 2.0 in a 5 mins flight ? Sorry Ray. I'm going to chicken out. I dunno whether I want to show the crowd (There will be a crowd around the FSL desk - believe me) of my lack of skills...a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since I upset Peter Tishma with my Lear jet London Bridge flight (in 2003 ?) - I had to 're-write' his config file, if you recall, so I could fly with the keyboard.. I nearly got a clip over the ear... I think I'll stick with their A320-X. What a marvelous aircraft. Regards Bill.
  14. I sincerly hope that none of you are waiting for a parcel from Fedex.....Fedex are too busy trying to deliver mine...I get a 'Click on this' or 'that' for the invoice... I get several of these per week. Funny how many of the emails end with a '.ru'.... Regards Bill
  15. Certainly do. The other names were Alan Parkinson, Dave Wild (Vulcan), John Davison and Andrew Luck. I bought my Saitek & CH gear there from Bob Siddick & their daughter Mary. I also recall us taking pics with Simon Hradecky, Guido Ostkamp, Graham "DOTCOM" Waterfield, Alex Ford, Mathijs Kok, & Enrico Schiratti. A virtual 'Who's Who' of Flight sims ! I probably won't get near Andrew. He's got some courage - what with a certain P3d release on the way, (hush hush) he'll be bombarded with questions, I'll bet. (shh... - I've got his FSX version). Anyway, got my list of names here to say 'Hi' to. Regards Bill 0.9nm SW R03 EGOW
  16. Hi Guys.. Thanks. I managed to get a room for Friday night at the 'main one near the railway station'. Thanks Chris. (The Premier Inn, Euston Way, Telford). ..(plus a breakfast - I'll need the calories flying Concorde for a five minute trip - there's such a lot to do on that Flight Deck in five minutes) Looking forward to seeing everybody. I'll redo my badge - I haven't got much room on it - shall I put 'AVSIM' on it, Compuserve, Flight Adventures, FSForum or just 'Bill EGOW ?' Decisions, Decisions. I was rather surprised when I dusted off my badge, and all those 'events' fell out...been going to these FS meetings for quite a while....haven't we, Ray ? I think the first one at which I met you and Pete the Swordfish had just been certificated... Regards Bill
  17. Same here, Chris. Nah, I suspect that Ray is a registered, fully paid up expert on the Concorde. I wouldn't even know where all those switches were (on the engineers panel - wasn't it a three seater ?) I'll make it easier to find me - I'm the bald guy with the old 'Flight Adventures' & 'FSForum' (Compuserve) badge on my chest. It'll be nice to see a few faces. The only problem will be trying to get near the FSL & Just Flight stands - to chat re a few of my aircraft.... Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay - I'd rather go by recommendation rather than a Google list. Regards Bill 0.9nm SW R03 EGOW Bill
  18. Likewise, Ray. I'm trying to decide (like my DH problems ) whether to find a room overnight on the Friday. I find it a little tiring nowadays there & back, and being on my feet all day. I sincerely hope that you are making a list of all your bits (cables and such) so that you do not forget anything. (Been there, done that). Regards Bill
  19. Hi guys... I'll be there ! Just bought my ticket. Ray - I'll be leaning over your shoulder to ensure you don't m**ck up... Is Peter going to be with you ? Regards Bill ('Scouser') 0.9nm SW R03 EGOW
  20. You are all so boring ! Me, I'm always viewing exciting things like the FR counter, or the exciting flickering of my autogen in the distance, or the speed at which the trees grow upwards on my approach. There's always something exciting about a few extra frames/sec.... Regards Bill
  21. Ha ! Beam me up, Fr Bill (..bbut please do not eat me) :Nail Biting: Regards ..another Bill
  22. I bet his stall warning gave him a headache... :Nail Biting: I'd love to hear that CVR recording though.. Regards Bill
  23. Nah, I just live under the R03 approach. Not to hijack the thread, but I've been lucky enough to have flown as baggage with a PPL friend in a Warrior, with a video camera, and as a result I've produced my own scenery, with ai etc. (Look for it in the library) A frustrating task though - I included some 800 trees, and 12,000 houses....it wasn't until P3d arrived that I had decent frame rates. Regards Bill
  24. Good one, Dave. Now you've got me worrying when my 'Call-up' papers are going to drop thrugh the letterbox...I've been simming since '86. Do you think that they've forgotten my details ? :Nail Biting: Regards Bill
  25. I see that Rob is being very quiet - do you think that he and Pete are on their hols together ? Regards Bill
