  1. Using the preset views in FSX or getting an add-on like EZCA is your best bet. There won't be a 2D panel, as discussed many many times.
  2. Right, just wanted to let you know. I submitted a ticket about 2.5 hours ago, haven't heard anything yet as well. Patience is key here.
  3. Submit a ticket, if you haven't done so already. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418165-order-issues-read-please/?p=2773231

  5. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418058-where-is-my-email/?p=2773186 I'll join you in waiting patiently :-)
  6. Info from Ryan is to submit a ticket.
  7. Edit: Info from Tabs is to submit a ticket, they are working through the queue right now.
  8. If it's not there I guess the notion is to wait until they sort it out.
  9. We don't know how many payments have to be connected to their respective accounts. I'm sure they are working through the queue right now. We have to sit tight.
  10. Did you check your account? Does your order show up under previous orders?
  11. We'll just have to wait and be patient.
  12. A wild guess: the fancy colorful LED-lighting in the cabin changes like in the 787?

    Pause at Failure

You're right of course - I get my emails on my phone, doesn't everybody do that nowadays? ;-) What I'd really love to see: automatic Facebook status updates: "so and so just busted his flaps 5 speed limit on climb-out for the 5th time in a row" - everything has got to be connected! Seriously now, the usefulness of an email function would be limited, I agree. Like I said, I was just thinking aloud.

    Pause at Failure

This is probably overkill, but: I'd think about adding an email feature - it drops you an email if the plane has reached TOD or the sim was paused because a malfunction occurred. Or think of it as a maintenance report via ACARS. My backup software has this option, which is where I got the idea. I'd hate to leave the plane fly itself and come back to the computer looking forward to descend and landing just to find out there was a problem early on and it paused right there. I don't know if this is even remotely possible to do within FSX...

    Pause at Failure

This function would be very handy if it's active only when using the time compression feature - assuming that the user might not sit in front of the computer. Otherwise it would be turned off allowing for eng fails during takeoff an so forth.
  16. Oh, I see ;-) I hope PMDG is very busy with the 777 beta ;-) You know, I recall Mr. Randazzo talk about the future of flight simulation at one conference or other and stating that he was very much looking forward into the future and what's in store. My hope really is that at some point in time we will have a platform that enables developers to spend their time on incorporating subtleties such as this engine behavior and not on battling with a limited and fault-riddled software that FSX is.
  17. I do remember PMDG stating that the engine behavior is currently limited by FSX. The discussion at that time was about the slower overall spool-up when setting 45% N1 in comparison to the real engine (which is observable in the graphic of the initial post). The NGX is within certified limits, albeit barely so (posted by Mr. Randazzo). Nevertheless, this thread proved to be very educational.
  18. I was an EZCA fan until I removed it to try OPUS and saw the frame-rate hit EZCA imposed on my system. Might not be a problem for users with a more powerful machine - it's still a good add-on.
  19. I second that, everything you ask for can be done with LINDA, even if it's not in the stock variable set. I wanted a keystroke for the chrono button on the glareshield and another one for both probe-heat switches combined - no problem with LINDA. You have to dig through the documentation (or a forum post, if I remember correctly) to be able to intercept the right values and write the corresponding lines of code, but it's not overly difficult.
  20. GoPro attached to the nose gear - absolutely fantastic shot!
  21. Not to forget that people who are capable of using all this are even more expensive than the software itself. By the way, if anybody is interested and a student: Autodesk has a very comprehensive education software program which offers free access to pretty much the whole product portfolio. But the learning curve is steep indeed :-)
  22. As far as I remember, Shade only increases contrast (highlight-to-shadow-ratio). Self-shadowing flight-deck geometry is not possible in FSX. Look to the DCS-series of simulators for that.
  23. Similar situations occurred several times during development of the NGX. As we all should have learned by now: if there is nothing new that PMDG are ready to show, we don't get updates. It's that simple.
  24. As stated many times the reason this has been omitted is that the limited number of animations have been used for things deemed more important, such as the HGS and customizable instruments. This limit is imposed by FSX - it has nothing to do with performance as such.
  25. As far as I recall there was a comment some time ago that this is not deemed important enough to introduce a new parameter and thus create format-incompatibilities. But I cannot find a quote, so take it with a grain of salt.
