  1. That's it then, if you switch to the high res VC wingtips and nose-cone will be visible again.
  2. Are you using the low-res version of the VC? If so, that would explain the missing geometry.
  3. Hi, for my setup .6 gives a very wide field of view. I use something around .9 in combination with TrackIR and EZCA to look around which looks and feels pretty natural to me (on a 24" widescreen). One effect of a wide field of view is that objects look far away and apart whereas a smaller field of view tends to compress distances (just compare a fisheye or wideangle lens shot to a telephoto, say of a sporting event, if that's any help :-) ) Don't think you can change that principle within the sim, plus it would look extremely weird.
  4. Hi, when in the VC just press s to go to spot view and cycle through the preset positions with a and shift+a. You can also access them from the view menu. Because the exterior model is loaded, no control surfaces or flaps are missing.
  5. Hi there, why would you need a software like that for the NGX? As far as I can see, what TSR does is inherently simulated by the NGX already (most certainly a realistic autobrake simulation). Adding TSR would probably mess things up, like having two anti-virus software packages running at once. Hope this helps.
  6. I had a problem similar to this - can't quite remember what did the trick in the end. Sometimes reinstalling EZCA helps - not just running the setup again but I had to re-extract a new setup file from the wrapper to get things working properly again. But before doing that I'd definitely try to run the configurator in Admin mode.
  7. Yes, well - I was merely trying to make a joke, as indicated by the smilies after the respective sentences.
  8. so are we [clears throat, whistles innocently] :-)
  9. yes, Airbus is looking into new markets with the development of the groundbreaking "Groundbus G320". It has drive by wire which prevents the driver from taking any wrong turns. Obviously my point was when you drive a car it doesn't matter if it is a left or right-hand traffic system car, you can steer with either hand. Just remember which way to enter a roundabout ;-)
  10. In my experience it doesn't feel any different whether you fly with the left or right hand on a control stick (same thing with driving a car for that matter). Or, if you fly Airbus, it doesn't matter which hand you use to push the buttons :-)
  11. I skimmed through the Aero-Presentation SAS video, 737-800: F/Os master caution illuminates when he presses recall, also illuminates when the captain presses his recall switch. Maybe this is another company option?
  12. I still do a waterfall flow check covering all relevant panels to make sure nothing is amiss before pushback. Other than that, I don't know - since a PNF role cannot be simulated by fs2crew what are the options? But I get your point, the only things I still touch are the taxi lights, MCP/FMC, IRS and lights test...but then if you are busy flying a manual approach I find that the FO eases the workload a lot.
  13. Hi there, press the DEL key, then the FIXED CONFIG prompt to delete (quoted from the intro manual). Hope this helps.
  14. In the NGX if your speed is often too high in turns (say above 15 kts GS) you will eventually get a tire pressure imbalance failure (or so I have heard ;-))
  15. I liked it in the MD-11, too. It is a nice touch. I'd compare this feature to the time it takes to align the IRS: some people have it set on realistic and wait (or do other preparations during that time), others use the "instant on" option.
  16. Only productive comment I can give: the selected bank limit is only taken into account while in HDG SEL or VOR mode.Edit: didn't type fast enough. Looked up the reference though :-) FCOM Vol 2 4.10.14
  17. If you turn up the CAB volume control on the FS2CREW main panel, you should be able to hear some announcements (safety etc) that are automatically triggered.
  18. This has worked for me as well - so far no problems at all.For me it is priceless to be able to just say "set vref plus one" when hand-flying and have the F/O set it for you.
  19. Well, I have them since Christmas. Unfortunately I have never owned other rudder-pedals before, so I can't compare.Quick review:Positive:The construction is good. All plastic parts are also black now instead of that horrible computer-gray of earlier versions.I wanted them mostly because of the hall-sensors. They are accurate, but do not have the high resolution (bit-wise) of the TM Warthog HOTAS.They center well and effortless with very little play. Also, pushing them out of center is very smooth. The pedals are far enough apart to feel comfortable and natural.Negative:I have the F16 version with toe-brakes. It is difficult to feel when the brakes "hit". There is a lot of travel before that happens and no distinct point to go through. The distance between the brake-onset and full brakes is very short. I find it difficult to evenly apply the same brake pressure on both pedals. The springs and pedal hinges squeak a little, but that could probably be easily fixed. They do tend to slip because the set is pretty light. For the NGX I only use rudder on TO and landings, but for DCS Black Shark 2 the pedals are a treat to fly with (and it being a heli sim, get quite a workout).Hope this helps.
  20. Hi, from what I understand this is a side effect of the way the adjustable panel lighting is done and can't be fixed.
  21. When set to baro, it calls minimums at 250ft MSL (referring to your altitude above Mean Sea Level). When set to radio, it calls minimums at 250ft AGL (Above Ground Level, referring to your actual altitude above terrain). What to use depends on which type of approach you are flying (look at the approach plates minimums section).
  22. Hi,the fuel indicators can be changed by selecting the option "Fuel Total Display" in the FMC "PMDG Setup / Aircraft / Displays" menu to off (also see intro PDF page 68).I am not aware of an option to change the pax numbers, however you could carry more cargo to simulate having denser seating.
  23. I just read in Chris Brady's Technical Guide that the fuel summation unit (FQIS on NGs) likes to over-read by 1-200kgs (=2-400lbs). Didn't know this was modeled on the NGX, but it sounds like a valid explanation.
  24. Don't know how limited the data is, I use it at many airports, it always worked so far (for example Trondheim - ENVA, where I flew out of yesterday, which is not very big). Does that function even depend on the nav-database? I'd imagine it could be pulled from the AFCAD as well...
  25. Have a look a the introduction pdf-document - what you see is called the EFIS/MAP layout and what you are looking for is the PFD/ND layout. You can switch between those via the setup menus in the FMC. All described neatly in the aforementioned pdf. Also a friendly reminder: you are required to sign your posts with your full name in the PMDG forums.Hope this helps.
