  1. Do you mean the FD master light? In your screenshot it is not illuminated because A/P A is engaged and thus the left FD is master. Switch over to A/P B and you will see that the right FD becomes the master with its respective light illuminated. The light does not indicate if any FD is turned on or not. As far as I understand it the master light (the caption is MA) indicates which FD commands the autopilot is currently following.
  2. I had trouble with SP1B as well until I deleted the FSAssistant entry in the EXE.xml. I had a similar error message, but since you don't have FSAssistant, I'm at a loss. Everything is running fine now on my machine.
  3. Any chance you have the FSAssistant iPad-App module installed and active?
  4. Did you read through this thread:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/353013-revived-passengers-vomiting-in-vnav-mode-thread/page__view__findpost__p__2179295
  5. Might be weather-related - any weather add-ons, wind smoothing, turbulence effects turned off, etc? Also, why shut down FSX? Just use heading-select or fly manually for a couple of seconds until things have calmed down again.
  6. A friend of mine flies for a large US carrier - the captain is required to always use the HGS for takeoff and landing for tailstrike prevention (737-800WL).
  7. I just gave it a test-drive. Right now I'd say it is still in an alpha stage. It looks very promising though.
  8. I only use the Thrustmaster software to set LED backlight brightness. Everything else runs through FSUIPC with LINDA.
  9. My intention was not to be discouraging, I just wanted to point out what are very minor annoyances at worst. I see that slight curving only when looking at the tracks using an analyzer - it only affects an area close to the center detent of the stick when you let go instead of guiding it back to center. I remember it was more pronounced when I first got the stick. I just looked at it again and it is much less strong, a non-issue really. As it has been said in this thread multiple times and I totally agree: as far as hotas systems go, this is an excellent choice - mainly because of the hall effect sensors. It really is very precise. If you get the DCS A10C, try air-to-air refueling with it, it's great fun with the Warthog hotas.
  10. One thing I don't like about the Warthog: the stick does not go back to center in a straight line but always wants to move in a slightly circular fashion. Seems to be a drawback of that ball-bearing design. Personally I would prefer a behavior similar to a sidestick. Also, the throttle grips are a tiny bit loose. At least with my unit the stick started to move with a little stickiness at times, which is the only one of the negative points that I actually notice while flying. There are tutorials on the net on how to fix the stickiness effect. On the bottom line I think it is an excellent unit that seems to hold up well, too. I had the original TM Hotas as well and the build quality was unbelievably bad with enormous amounts of play in the stick after a couple of months.
  11. Very interesting read. However I do hope that this feature is not being simulated in the NGX :-)
  12. Strange, I have Z mapped to the default FSX autopilot on/off toggle - but for me it still works with the NGX like I described: push once to disconnect, twice to cancel the warning.Did you have a look into the shortcut assignments of the NGX? The safest way might be to assign a shortcut to the AP disengage button on the yoke to avoid any "Z-confusion" altogether.
  13. About the AP disconnect: Just press z again to cancel the warning. This mimics real world behavior of the AP disconnect button on the joke.
  14. The rotary can be found on the forward panel below the captains ND and is labeled "AFDS Flood"
  15. Exact same thing happened to me today as well. I used the external air cart for the flight. In the end only a reload of the airplane cleared the fault for me.
  16. Just a stab in the dark: did you guys try to cycle the glareshield-illumination on and off? This helped me a couple of times, not with this exact issue but it was similar.
  17. As far as I remember this has been asked before - the answer was that it is an airline option and not modeled in the NGX. Hope this helps.
  18. The throttles appear as DirectX sliders - you should have no problem assigning them through FSX. FSUIPC however is neat for getting the reversers to activate in the throttles "off" detent. Probably LINDA can take care of that stuff, too.
  19. Moving the point of view closer or further away changes the size of the combiner whereas changing the field of view (=zooming) will change the size of the projection. By zooming in I mean a higher zoom factor and thus narrower field of view.
  20. What do you mean by "same settings"? If you use a higher zoom-factor, the size of the projection should increase.
  21. Before this disappears in the depths of the forum: on left side of the IFSD display-bezel you will find two buttons labeled + and -. Click and hold to change the brightness.
  22. Whether the LCD digits appear white/gray or orange depends on the back-lighting and the brightness of the environment. Just take a look at various flight-deck shots at airliners.net. The rendition in the NGX seems to be accurate, as far as FSX allows for it.As for the Honeywell MCP in the NGX, the LCDs are orange even during daytime - are you saying they should have a more saturated colour? I would not say that they are white at all.
  23. Sure thing. I use LINDA now, so key assignments do not matter but I remember looking through the options some time ago and getting a bit confused myself. At least the A/T arm switch assignment is labeled in the menu as such. Anyway, all is well now :-)
  24. This is possible, I have both TOGA and AT disconnect switches mapped to my throttle via key-commands. The entry for the latter can be found in key-commands/autoflight/page8 - A/T disengage switch. One could also use LINDA to achieve the same thing.
  25. I remember that being mentioned somewhere - the clicking is not audible on NGs.
