Hi, I have noticed that RAAS can cause sudden drop of VAS in certain conditions. I have observed that on approach (very close to airport) VAS suddenly dips by about 200MB, then after few seconds it recovers. Any one else seen this? Tom

Re-installed and on vanilla P3D everything works like it should be. Since I really liked PTA I will slowly start to practice with it again. Maybe I will see where the error is/was. Most important that on vanilla it works fine... and I wanted to re-install P3D anyway. At least I got reason to finally do it :) Tom Link

Hi, Sim is P3D. I have read your topic. Kind of similar but I don't know what to do in order to eliminate the problem. It does happen without and with AS16. Small edit. I have eliminated all the addons that modify any textures - only Global and Vector are on. What I find interesting is that... lights illuminate grund and then, after some seconds - less than a minute - they disappear. Lights switches are still on, yes, lights are gone. I will do reinstall of the Queen and see what happens. Ok, Queen re-installed and no success. Looks like P3D is messed up. Full reinstall then. Tom Link

Hi, I have small issue with landing lights/taxi lights that tend to dissapear. What happens: When loading flight, any with default flight and then switching to Queen, I light up the lights. Thay stay on for few moments and then... dissapear. They are still on, splash is on the fuselage but do not appear on the ground at all. Yes, I was playing with PTA. Yes, I have brought back things to how they used to be, yet still problem remained. I am not sure that PTA is an issue, because they do the same there too. I have checked 737 and there things are perfect. Can you tell me what you think? Should I uninstall and install again? Tom Link

Hi, I have small issue. When I land at dusk landing lights do not illuminate the ground. Taxi light as well. Then when I load up the sim at total darkness, lights "are back". Is there any solution to this or is it a bug somewhere? Tom

I have .53 driver and no VAS leak. I do have it with higher ones. So not only .33 is safe but .53 as well. Logged flights over past 2 weeks, all very stable.

Steba, please set LOD to minimum and try again. Check if there is any reduction is vas. Btw - I'm on P3D now and there vas management is better, not the best. It is better comparing to fsx.

Steba, I just noticed that you run FSX... well I got rid of that some time ago, but I remember that when using 777 I also had to reduce the LOD and autogen... You may post Fsx cfg. Regarding hardware... your CPU is... quite outdated. I had the same and was clocked to 4.0 on air HT disabled. Only then I had acceptable results both fps and vas related. Another thing, what other add ons are present? All is eating valuable vas. What you have in the start is way too much. Tom

Show me your graphic and rest of the settings, please. Most likely you will have to set LOD to lowest setting and reduce on autogen - medium should be fine. So, show the setting and we will see.

Can you say: what kind of LOD radius are you all using? Set it all the way down, for tube liner you don't need anything more than this. Also, something I noticed, there is some kind of large VAS increase when flying between continents. Flight from EDDF to CYYZ, over London. VAS was between 1.5/1.1. Then when crossed into Canada it jumped by 200-300MB, and remained. At the end I had 600/700 left. Then, flight back to EDDF, similar thing but... VAS only went up once I crossed between U.K. and continental Europe, also overflew London but about 20NM south. I have Global, open LC eu and Vector (only main and secondary roads).

Whatever you will buy, still if you max things out you gonna get OOM. Period.

Hi, Why the colors on LCD screens are so washed out? CRT gives nice, deep colors of the data displayed. When I change to LCD then everything is washed out and over bloomed. Why? Tom Link

Yes, you do it through the control panel.

David, since when are you using fsx? Your mistakes are very beginner type (dll and fsx being in program files folder). I believe that in order to use any pmdg product you must read fsx forum and number of guidelines which will tell you what to do before you begin.

But I created a profile already with weights directly from PMDG. Works great.

Well. Paul, your "observation" falls under points 2 & 3. But hey, at least you seem to have nice and tidy operating system. I forgot something in my statement. I use UT2 for traffic - replaced all models with custom p3d native. I use 4096 textures however I limit that to 1024 for clouds with exception of HD to cirrus. Still, no oom, I don't even track it. Performance? Min 15fps "sometime", usually I'm solid 20-30 with locked at 30. CPU? Nothing special: 4790k @ 4.0, + Nvidia 970. But again, I do compromise.

The reason why so many people have problems with vas is that: 1. They have mess on PC 2. They expect too much from simulator 3. They don't compromise I have tons of various add-ones. Never had OOM (wait, I did. Back in 2010 or 2011 when I pushed fsx to the max with Orbix Australia and Canberra airport landing NGX). Ever since, never. And I use AS2016, Rex, airports, Full Orbix, do not u install sceneries. So, clean up, start from the scratch and expect what is REAL. Now, feel free to release the hate on me, I don't care.

I'm not using any chase camera or any other camera add on. Shaking is during pushback and shows front gear shaking. Pushback done, rest of the flight is smooth.

Move down on scenery to dense - no need to have it higher. Actually overall I have more complex setting plus ut traffic and I'm nowhere near any oom.
