  1. I was able to enter N90W000 and have it display (it always has to be NxxWxxx, need all the digits) For the second thing, you have to go to the VNAV Descent page, click Offpath Descent, enter the fix and restriction if it isn't there already, then hit 6R "Display on"
  2. I think they do most of their flights on VATSIM. In fact my voice can probably be heard in one of the NGX training flights, which landed at KLAS while I was controlling APP.
  3. You have to cool the brakes before you replace the tires, I believe it's under "maintenance".

    EFB addition

They've had worldwide enroute charts for a while now, do you mean approach charts?
  5. Are you flying the freighter? They modeled the ADF in the PAX version, but not the F.
  6. Not sure about the nav data, but in reality the ILS approaches are still there. GLS only exists at EWR and IAH currently, and the aircraft has to be specially equipped for it. As far as I know no FS aircraft can truly do GLS approaches.

    EFB addition

After I over did a de-rate the other day and did my best reenactment of this: (language warning) http://youtu.be/UZGXwbPfwQs?t=54s  I want the EFB for the takeoff calcs, but I think that was the part that was cost prohibitive to license.. :(
  8. Known issue, will be fixed in next update. For now you can delete the entries in there (ILS and both VORs), and save a new panel state.
  9. I had a similar issue in the NGX. Check under CDU>PMDG Setup>Aircraft and see if the tail number at the top matches the plane you are in. If it doesn't, here's what Ryan told me to do with the NGX to fix it (I presume the same should work for the 777, at the very least it won't break it any more) First, exit FSX. Then delete both PMDG 777 folders at this location: C:Users\(Your Windows Username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\SimObjects (you can also search %appdata% in the start menu on Windows 7, this will take you to the Roaming folder) Re-start FSX, load the plane and check the CDU again as above. See if it has the right tail number and options.
  10. He means make sure they were not dead, I think.. to the OP: What's your startup panel state?
  11. I don't remember where I learned it, but as far as I know there's only 4 you can use: F9=1 F10=2 F11=3 F12=4 Of course these all have default assignments in FSX, but setting them for something in an individual aircraft overrides the defaults, which are: F9=VC F10=2D cockpit (main panel, empty in the 777 which is why I used F10 for the overhead) F11=locked spot view F12=top down view Glad to help!
  12. That's not correct, you use the AP Disconnect button on the Yoke (mapped to a joystick button), or right click the TOGA screw click spot on the MCP, wait 2 seconds, then click again. Voila, silence
  13. Even though the ZIGGY arrival does intersect the ILS at PETIS, it's pretty much impossible to do due to terrain and speed. Normally ATC will vector you South, then East, then North, and finally back West to the ILS. I've heard this referred to as "toilet bowl sequencing" for obvious reasons  The ZIGGY into ONT, and the KAYOH into SNA are the 2 most difficult arrivals to control in SoCal. Speed control is absolutely critical on both.
  14. As I said in the first response, you have to make an edit to the aircraft config file. You can find this by opening your FSX folder (by default C:\program files(x86)\Microsoft\Flight Simulator X or something like that, mine is C:\FSX) then go to Sim Objects\Airplanes\PMDG 777-LR and find the file "aircraft.cfg" open it, then scroll down to, or search for (Control-F) [CameraDefinition.3] Title = "Overhead Lower Panel" Add the following: (note: do this when the sim is not running, and make sure you place this after the last line in that section, which should be "initial pbh = .... " and before the next section [CameraDefinition.4]) HotKeySelect=2 Once you do that, save the file (Control-S) and now the F10 key will switch to the overhead view, and F9 will return you to the captain's seat. It should look like this when you're done: Then repeat this process in the PMDG 777F Folder, which is in the same location as the other one. Hope this helps
  15. I know, what I'm saying is in the NGX there's a 2D overhead. In the 777 there is not. Same with the others you said were missing. Therefore they can not be set to the shift-number shortcuts. I have done what I said before with the F10 key and can confirm that it does work, though you're limited to F9-F12. I'd recommend not setting F9 to anything as that will always take you back to the main VC view. edit: Also in response to the original post, Shift-8 and 9 in the 777 are the captain's PFD and ND popups respectively.
  16. I don't think it's possible to set VC views to Shift-# as those are shortcuts for 2D popup panels. You can set F10-12 by editing the aircraft.cfg file and adding "HotKeySelect=2(or 3 or 4)" in the section for the view you want. For example, I have the lower overhead mapped to F10 (since it's an empty view). Open the aircraft.cfg (you'll need to do this for both the pax and cargo separately). Search for the line: [CameraDefinition.3] Title = "Overhead Lower Panel" Add the following below the last line of that entry: HotKeySelect=2
  17. F9 is the default for the VC in FSX, so it should unless you somehow changed it or something else is overriding it (such as EZ Dock or Opus camera). In your main FSX folder there's a file called "cameras.cfg" Open that and make sure that the entry that has "title = Virtual Cockpit" ends with "HotKeySelect=1"
  18. Have a look in the Ops center, PMDG made it already.
  19. Actually in the 777 you can enter these on the right hand column on the Route page as well. You can enter N40E160, or N0400.0E16000.0 (would be needed if it were N0430/E160 for example) Check if the plane is in pounds or kilos, and if simbrief is set to pounds or kilos as well. If that all matches up, it could very well be what Trent said about setting the reserves. I've been using simbrief to get fuel numbers, and it actually tends so far to be conservative and leave me more than I need at destination.
  20. Did you get any of the altitude callouts from the GPWS? (2500, 1000, approaching minimums, etc) If not, it could be the sound routing issue where the sound is going to speakers that don't exist.
  21. If you edit your aircraft.cfg (you'll need to do this for both the Pax and Freight versions), you can do this. Find the section that says "[CameraDefinition.3] Title = "Overhead Lower Panel" " add the following: HotKeySelect=2 and F10 will go to the overhead panel. F9 will take you back to the main VC view.
  22. Did you load the 777 on top of itself (or another 777)? That'll happen if you do.
  23. Not from Boeing at least, that one on the 767 is an aftermarket mod. They say they can do it on a 777. I'm not saying it should be done in the sim.. http://www.aeroconengineering.com/airstair/airstair.html Yeah, the one I remember seeing this on was a blank white 767. I think it was a government plane, kinda secret
  24. Nope. That's right (or you can right click the screw on the bottom left corner of the MCP)
