  1. I love the -600. It's got legs and it's a rocketship when it's light.
  2. Autolands aren't the most gentle technique. They usually plant the jet on the runway quite firmly.
  3. Anyone want to give a Canadian Airlines 732 a go on the -600?
  4. It's been all -600 and -700 for me since they came out. Not a fan of how long the 8/900s are.Plus, the -600 is just a rocket.
  5. ^^ Was just coming to post that. The 230 degree turn to 08 is a beast. Take-off from BIRK too, and not Keflavik for a nice short runway.
  6. That last vid, is that a Classic with winglets or is Boeing moving the landing lights back out to the flap tracks on the NGs now?
  7. En route to HECA from EGLC because for some reason, I've never flown to Egypt in FSX.
  8. Oh big time. You have to get the jet cleaned up quickly or it climbs like a pig.
  9. So I was messing around a bit last night on this. With flaps 15 for takeoff, which seems like it would probably be used, V1 lowers enough that the jet can stop on the runway.
  10. And the thing that really matters when you're braking; runway remaining and groundspeed. At 140 kts at La Paz the GS is over 165 knots easily. There's no way to stop it. V1 would have to be like 90-95 knots to get it stopped on the runway.
  11. Departing La Paz, which is at 13,000 feet MSL, the V1 is still calculated to be around 140 knots with a full load and 1/3 fuel. There's no way I'd stop the jet if something went wrong at 140 knots at that aiport. At VR you're pretty much on the other piano keys... Am I missing a spot on the FMC?
  12. Flew the river approach to DCA tonight from Halifax in a WestJet 736... At 9 fps :(It's pretty sweet. Fun avoiding the restricted airspace and the sharp turn on short final.
  13. No accident, but I slammed a 736 onto EGLC 08 pretty hard last night. The jet doesn't like that 6 degree glide slope. 3/4 mile visibility too. It was fun watching buildings appear out of nowhere.
  14. I'm building a new CPU this weekend so I can't wait to try these dense approaches.
  15. Well, this flight I'm on right now should be fun. WJA -600 onto a gravel runway in Nunavut.
  16. You don't hear the front wheel coming up into the fuselage after you're airborne because the wheel isn't rotating, so the scrubbers aren't stopping it. Only after takeoff when the front wheel is rotating do you hear the scrubbing noise.
  17. Yeah, the WJA -600 file is off. None of WestJet's 737s have HUDs.
  18. I always figured it would be awesome and it is... this thing is a rocket ship. Lightly loaded for WestJet YEG-YYC shuttles, it's ridiculous. VR is around 109 knots and it just jumps off the runway, climbing out at over 4500 fpm. Things happen fast in this one!!!Well done, PMDG. It was 100% worth waiting for.
  19. It is updated. Alderaan was deleted from the database after "A New Hope".
  20. Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. I'll probably fly it back to Edmonton tonight. Then who knows. Might go ETOPS to Hawaii!
  21. WestJet had these on their -200s... dunno if they're on the NGs or not.
  22. When does an NG taxi on a single engine... I've never seen this on any 737 I've ever been on.
