  1. Reminded me one comic on Oatmeal. I would post the link here, but that's not exactly a "suitable material" for such public forum .
  2. You can't do that in the NGX. You have two options to choose from - 2 class and 1 class layout. Both have fixed number of seats. You can't add/subtract seat number. Before you break into "but airline x has y seats and NGX doesn't have it and it isn't realistic/cool/etc", just chillax and deal with it. All in all, pax are just weight. Throw some pax into luggage compartment. Number of seats doesn't affect in any significant way. In order to change between cabin layout please refer to PMDG 737NGX Introduction manual, page 60 (0.00.60). In order to get there you'll have to go through PMDG Setup and then Aircraft -> Equipment.
  3. Never owned any advanced 3rd party add-on aircraft, so there was some learning to be done. Flew first NGX tutorial like 5 times, then got bored. Began flying some other routes, starting from ramp with engines running, kinda just doing everything from Tut 1, but on different routes. Then Tom Risager wrote his tutorial. Flew it too and later kept as reference. Never flew NGX Tut 2, but have read it and took some neat and previously unknown information with me. And of course, this sub-forum :good: . In the gap between TR tutorial and NGX tutorial 2, this sub-forum kept me with information to keep me furthing myself deeper into the wonderful world of Boeing 737NG. Some day thinking about printing both FCOMs.
  4. Then you better look into the .ini's. Or you did something wrong. Running FSX in admin mode always worked for me.
  5. For the future reference: UAC - User Account Control. Security measure on Windows Vista-onwards. To change aircraft config go to x:\<install path>\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\Aircraft. There you will find all the .ini's for aircraft configs. OR you can also change configs from livery folders located in x:\<install path>\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800NGX WL*\Texture.xx** * PMDG 737-800NGX, PMDG 737-900NGX, etc. ** IATA airline code for particular livery
  6. I wasn't too, but then I flew on one of these bad boys (Dash 8 Q400). Such a great plane!
  7. If you have UAC turned on, run FSX in admin mode. You can also just change aircraft configuration for a particular livery in the .ini file.
  8. I think we all need a Dash 8 from PMDG . I wish they would consider making it some day.
  9. Underwater, FL-180 I wanted to say something above FL300, and then remember NGX tutorial 2 .
  10. IMO I prefer 737 over 320, because 737 cockpit is much neater, cozier. A320 cockpit feels like it is a bit missing something. Plus yoke>joystick. Basically my thoughts are you got your instruments and control stick in front of you - here pilot, fly it. Airbus has it's controls put on the sides and has a retractable table (!!!) put in front of the pilot. Nice! Also, no limitations from the plane on the pilot from the Boeing aircraft, Airbus has computer put in front of the pilot, I can't live with that now . Yeah I know, majority now gonna give me that "fly-by-wire" BS now, NG got that too now, except for spoilers and probably something else. No need for war now, but that's that I usually answer to the Airbus fanbois here in Germany. After hearing this, they usually shut up. I'm not saying Airbus is bad or worse than Boeing, I just prefer Boeing, and these are just the reasons why. But it saddens me a bit that Europe is now mostly Airbus turf now, with the exception of few (RYR which by the looks of it won't renew it's NG fleet later, NAX, can't thin of other who would have a large NG fleet else)...
  11. I have Eng. Hyd. Pumps on and Elec. off. I do it according to my checklist.
  12. I, on the contrary, prefer the 737 looks over A320.
  13. I'm wondering too. Because it's about +10C at daytime where I fly and no snow whatsoever, yet I'm seeing winter textures in FSX.
  14. I think you better call the Ghostbusters, you've got a serious problem by the looks of it...
  15. OP, why do you have your landing light on? Or does 737 has another checklist for space ops?
  16. In my experience, OpusFSX offers the best performance of the above mentioned two.
  17. Do you have your aircraft properly trimmed?
  18. I agree! Always fly this bird manually, at least to 10k feet. It handles so nicely. But why you don't use Opus cameras as well? I find them quite awesome! Like those shaky effects during departure and when flying low. And ah, Bergen, love flying there! Too bad it's a bit far away from my "hub" so I don't fly over there much often. So far only had RWY17 departures, have to make a U turn to heading FLO VOR. Awesome, awesome airport. Thinking about installing a SAS or Norwegian livery to fly around Scandinavian region, because it's so beautiful there!
  19. Playing FSX while beeing "under the influence" is one of my favorte things. Not something anyone should do IRL, but in FSX it's fun . The best thing is, while you are pooped you still do all the precudures according to rules. And when you about to fall asleep, you have to make a landing, and we sure can't trust autoland to do it. So you pack your "stuff" together and do a perfect landing .
  20. My reply from earlier. Quite stupid if you ask me, but well, what can you do... Gonna make a few flights later today. I loved the trial (even though time was too limited). I just hate that because of security reasons users tend to get bu++hurt. I can't install software wherever I want? What kind of sorcery is this?
  21. No they don't, but they sure mess up the tidiness Security... just what I've feared. Oh well, there is that 30 day return policy, no?
  22. Solved. Quite stupid if you ask me, but well, what can you do...
