Isn't it you advance the throttle to 40% N1 and after that push the TOGA. I perform this ritual every time I perform a take off using TOGA. Usually I advance everything manually, like it better that way.

Tried Activesky once, was really impressed with the features, but unfortunately FPS dropped drastically for me (to single digits). A year or so later OpusFSX was released. Read a lot of review, original thought - too good to be true. Then decided to try it out and was really impressed. I never experienced anything like this before. So OpusFSX here. Also, I would really love to grab REX myself, but 35 EUR is a bit too steep for me at the moment. Are there any sales for it? I would grab it for 20EUR, maybe even 25 EUR right now if I could find it.

Well obviously start with the first tutorial and then move to the second. You may also want to check out the Tom Risager tutorial (http://www.nobleair.net/library/manuals/737NGX_Tutorial.pdf). I've done it too, liked it very much. I did in between tutorials 1 and 2 (since No. 2 was still unavailable at the time). With that you'll be pretty much set. For more advanced stuff use this forum section of course (and Boeing manuals!!! PMDG didn't license them for nothing!).

I get normal descend without anti ice on (no winders here, FMC calculates for AI off). Few things I do (separatly or together) to get to a normal descend without using speed brakes (I still have to use them sometimes, but not too much): Correct one would be to program Forecast page under Descend. Put in AI on/off altitudes and you're pretty much set for the most time. Problem here for me lies in the fact that I mostly have to guess where clouds are/will be. I have to look into OpusFSX settings... Other method I sometimes use is flying a longer STAR (if available). On shorter flights, when I fly at around FL130, I drop my speed to around Flaps 1 before descending. Those are the main ones I use. There are other methods too, try experimenting! But on the hot sunny days -800 drops pretty well.

Wait, what? CDU is FMC. At least a part of it. Basically FMC = PC, CDU = keyboard/display.

The full functioning FMC was one of the reasons I bought NGX. Once you learn some basic things with it, you will never want to get back to any default plane. There's gonna be like this big void. Do those two tutorials provided by PMDG and you'll be flying that bird in no time.
