  1. I would suggest following. Just play normally, fly to airports with ILS approaches. When you do an approach, let's say, the first time dissingage an A/P at say 400 feet AGL on final before touch down. Next time at 500 and so on. After a while I'm sure you'll get a hang of it. It's the method I use.
  2. Never heard about turning it off during the approach. YD is always on, even on the groung, it's on the checklist (Preliminary Preflight Precedure - Overhead).
  3. It would be cooler if the pilot would only say "cabin crew, please take your seats", since pilots also do that announcement when they are about to land and that "departure" thing kinda ruins it for landing announcement porpuses... Try this for sound. Otherwise I might give it a shot myself :D.
  4. Funny how this list has a mistake (typo?) in my country name :D.
  5. I flew yesterday NGX through thunderstorm. I don't think what I did was right, but it was over my destination airport. It was throwing my airplane like a sock in the washing machine. So I landed, unloaded the scared passengers, waited till the plane was cleaned up and loaded new live stock :D. As I departed I flew through the same conditions. But it didn't last very long till I was in the clear water sky. Good stuff.
  6. Could it be a livery fault?
  7. Does [shift]+[E] combination work?
  8. You're embedding your YT videos wrong :D. Just copy and paste the link from address bar.
  9. [media=]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4Sam5omG0v0&pxtry=2&skipcontrinter=1[/media] Up the irons!
  10. I use Collins MCP. Both VNAV and LNAV are pre-armable on the ground and I do so. I just like to have some guidance. Although LNAV kicks in only after 400 feet (I think).
  11. I finished flight to my home town. Oh yeah. Like the OP I too enjoy bad'ish weather. Although wind direction wasn't that bad.
  12. I usually fly short routes. Instead of, lets say, a longer 2 hour flight, I prefer two shorter 1 hour flights, like EVRA-EETN-EVRA for example. I find them more exciting. Get to do more things. But I still fly a bit longer routes (1,5-2.5h) from time to time.
  13. No it was -800. I don't have the 6700 addon, so it wouldn't have made sense me asking for -600.
  14. Oh, the joy!!! You are doing it for which 737? If -600 (what makes sense, since they had a -200 in the cartoon), when I might as well say "D'Oh!".
  15. Good thing it's not Seven-Turdy-Seven. Pardon my French...
  16. Saw this once. Been replaying the video for like 10 times. Can't really comment on the pilot's action, not a pilot, this situation isn't known to me (apart from the sim :D). But maybe he should have done a go around. Once I flew as a passenger on Airbaltic (coincidentally 733 :D) and we had the same situation. The plane flared quite a bit and had a bit a late touchdown, but good thing that we landed at 3km runway at Tegel (EDDT).
  17. That iFly rain effect is only available on FS9. Unless they change something after release.
  18. I meant that [Ctrl]+[shift]+[Esc] bypasses all that fancy stuff and just launches Windows Task Manager.
  19. On Windows 7 it's [Ctrl]+[shift]+[Esc]. Unless your OS runs tons or processes it maybe is somewhat useful. Otherwise don't think it's necessary.
  20. One also can get another person to sit near computer and make callouts. This way one will have four callouts :D.
  21. You sure you put them in the right folder. I once also couldn't hear those sounds, until I realized they were in the wrong directory :D.
