  1. dggraham1284 process for installing CoolSky DC-9 is how I found out to install MD-80, you have to go to Safe Mode for the install. I will tonight for kicks do another install and try the optimized parts to see if that may make a difference in OOM's. Like I said before, I have had OOM before I could get off the ground if I took my time. Great news about the TFDi 717!
  2. I can do the same as dgraham1284, my problem was I get an OOM within 30 minutes. I tried to get Coolsky customer support but was told they did not support P3D v3.1. So dgraham1284, what was your solution, or do you have an OOM problem?
  3. Unfortunately I have the MD-80 Proffesional Pilot from CoolSky and have the same issues. There customer support is lacking and they have the attitude of "that's a P3D issue!" I have removed Coolsky and a couple of other Payware planes and will wait until I see a fix come around. You would think that with FSX-Steam and P3D, software creators would be coming out with everything, but that is not the case. Let's look at what is or is not available for P3D V3 at this time for PayWare!: Boeing 717 Crickets 727 (P3D) Captain Sim works but has some minor issues 737 (P3D) 757 Not P3D Supported 767 Not P3D Supported 747 (P3D) Ifly (excellent) 777 (P3D) Captain Sim (works great!) PMDG (sorry can't make the stretch for the cost!) 787 crickets, crickets, crickets Airbus A318 (P3D) Aerosoft A319 (P3D) Aerosoft A320 (P3D) Aerosoft A321 (P3D) Aerosoft A330 (P3D) Blackbox but still has not completed a final version A350 crickets A380 crickets DC 9 crickets 10 CLS I will have to say has a somewhat decent version Lockeed L1011 (P3D) Just Flight has a really good version CPT SIM is good also! MD 80-88 crickets This is my list just off the top of my head. So imagine someone who wanted to make a coin or two who could fill this void!
  4. I use JustFlight 360 and have had no issues, plus the benny is it does not tax my recourses as much as MyFlight did.
  5. Sorry to hear you are having this issue. To get to the point of your issue, I like others have already posted found that certain planes will cause problems, for me it started with CoolSky MD-80 that I was lucky if it would go 20 minutes before crashing. After reading several post I decided to install a VAS meter, and watched as I the CoolSky MD-80 would cause the VAS to fill up like a sinking ship. The funny thing I noted about the VAS crash was when I would do "Event Viewer" after the post crash to see what went wrong, very seldom would I get the same dll error. Sometimes it would crash with nothing concrete, the only thing that was certain I would see VAS go from green to yellow then alarms, finally CTD! I have noted that when flying PMDG 737 on P3D V3 it too will start a drain, that I have found if I turn certain things off like traffic and such, and turn down radius and textures it does slow the process down. The Ifly 747v2 I have found I had to turn it down, and the VAS hovered around 72% for a flight from KSFO to EDDF that was 10 hours. I did a return flight the next day in the CS 777-200 P3D version and saw my VAS never exceeded 49% and on that flight I had traffic and most of the sliders at normal quality level for my system. The only thing I can really recommend is install a VAS monitor to see if that helps identify the issue. Also, I have had other friends replace to their vid cards for P3D ver 3.1. I am running a Nvidia 760 4gyg mem card and can not go ultra on the settings, but I can fly with no stutters and quality scenery.
  6. I purchased the 747 yesterday and had the dreaded no landing gear or instruments. Went through the forums reloaded finally had wheels and instruments. Shut down sim came back later fired it back up, bang the gear and instruments gone again, only I noticed that malwarebytes was flagging something while the 747 was loading. The long story short version: There is a file in the 747 that when it loads will trigger malwarebytes to quarantine that file that then triggers the anti-pirate mode to this piece of software. I was able to without going through a reload to get the file un-quarantined and working as it should after a completed reboot. Now I just have to work out how to allow that file to run with Malwarebytes or I am going to have to turn off MB. Anyone have this issue?
  7. Played around Coolsky's Super MD-80 Professional on P3D v3.1. The graphics and details are really good and everything works, just one major problem! The memory leak that Coolsky's MD-80 has is worse on the P3D platform than the FSX-SE platform, to the point that if I took the time to program my FMC I would be lucky to make it off the runway before the VAS memory alarm started its death toll to CTD. I never had the opportunity to fly Coolsky MD-80 on FSX, I bought it for FSX-SE and had the dreaded CTD, finally I found from others how to diagnose this and installed a VAS Monitor, and there it was, a memory leak. It is funny that on P3D V3.1 it is quite faster than FSX-SE but it is there! So for those contemplating purchasing the MD-80 or the DC-9 from Coolsky I would wait until this issue has been fixed. PS. for the those that were having trouble installing the MD-80, the issue of it gets to the last 99% on the install and stalls, I did find the easiest solution. Just boot your system to Safe Mode, it will install perfectly!
  8. The Safe Mode w/internet worked for me to get it to install into FSX-SE. Once I did that way, works like a champ!
  9. As someone who has touted the wonders of P3D at the very first and has hung in their to V2.5, I find myslef now using FSX-SE more and more. I just don't have it in me to purchase $199 flight platform that will cause me to reinstall everything again. Plus there is the issue of 3rd party catching up. I will say FSX-SE is not graphically as detailed as P3D 2.5, but the I have FSX-SE tweaked and running so there is no stutters, everything looks marvelous, and all my FSX planes run like a champ. I purchased CoolSky Super 8- Pro and could not be happier and that is a very complex plane if you want it to be. If and when I purchase P3D 3.0 it will be when I see in this forum pretty no major issues popping up. Also, I as others are impressed with FSX-SE as when they do upgrade, you don't have to do anything. Another thing that keeps me from buying P3D 3.0, is where is 64bit? So I buy p3d and a year later have to buy p3d 4.0? I agree with other when we talk about P3D 3.0, it is basically 2.5 with a lot of correction that should have been applied to 2.5!
  10. Based on the recommendations I read (I don't blame anyone), I purchased the Super 80 Professional from Flight 1 Software who support CoolSky on this product and so far I have to say DO NOT BUY IT! I have spent the last 2 days so far trying everything I can to install this $59.95 piece of software into my FSX-SE and all I get is 99% on the install and it freezes at CMD80-spoiler_wind.wav. I am not new to Flight1 since I have purchased the IFLY 737 in the past and their panel program. Now I do not think I will continue to purchase from them since no one can bother to answer my trouble ticket since yesterday. I have tried to find help on their forums, but I cannot gain access even though I have access to my IFLY forums. They say they not want to reward pirates by making it easy for them to find help so that means that we the paying public must suffer with bad product installs!
  11. Hugo, did you install any planes just prior to finding this problem? As I have said I have only seen this occur with P3D after installing Captain Sim 727.
  12. I have had this problem arise twice, both can be associated after I installed the CS727. It does not happen immediately, there is something about the reboots and the files, but eventually you will lose your plane library. It was because of this issue that I discovered Macrium for backing and restoring my drives. I never found the exact culprit, but I am 100% assured that it was the Captain Sim and it was with 727 and the 757.
  13. Yes I did install the Air Traffic Manager, and it did make the FPS better, but it did not after several runs and tweaks alleviate the stutters. I even rolled backed my Vid Driver thinking that maybe that might be a problem, nope! Plus after I got to thinking about it, why should I have to install a piece of freeware software that fixes and corrects a payware program? If they make a change to MyTraffic for the batter I will give it a shot again, or maybe Traffic360 will come out with a new version that is more user friendly.
  14. I saw saw the post about a $20 MyTraffic ver 6 and jumped on it. I can now say I am glad I only paid $20. After 3 weeks of really trying to give it a chance, this last weekend I dumped it completely and have reinstalled WOAI. My reasons for removing MyTraffic was simple, performance versus eye candy was my primary reason. I do not have a top fo the line system but my system is not slouch as I can run P3D nearly wide open and maintain 30 FPS with no stutters and that is flying a Aerosoft A320 or a PMDG 737. But what I got with MyTraffic was 15 FPS and stutters up the wazoo! I tried turning P3D down, I reduced traffic, and still the minute I was in vicinity of KLAX, KATL, or KJFK your could almost hear with your imagination the cogs starting to squeal and snap under the load. So that what made me decide to hit the remove button. The other thing about this program was the interfaces, for those that are thinking about creating an add-on. A piece of advice KISS! It took me 3 days with help from the Burkhard to get the darn thing up and running. Maybe I am in the minority, but if I pay for a peice of software, I expect it to load itself, interface with what ever it is supposed to, and run, period! Oh, and if it would nto be too much problem, be able to bring me a Beer after take-off! But seriously, if I or you pay for a product, it should work and not be more hassle to install. "Mr Doe here is your new car radio, all you have to do now is install the latest software and have it interface with your cars on board computer." How long do you think that car radio manufacturer would stay in business. Now freeware or Beta test software, got it! If its free, then shut up and enjoy it or leave it alone. I read one post that said, why not just log into VATSIM if you want airtraffic, a man beyond his years in wisdom!
  15. So what in everyones opinion is the best all around driver version to use if you have an NVIDEA card?
  16. Depending on how deep into the rabbit hole you go, FSUIPC is the best for what ales ya! I have Saitek Yoke pedals and 2 throttle quadrants, plus the Radio and mutlifunction panel. Between FSUIPC and SPAD, I can configure any aircraft I care to fly. The one trick with FSUIPC is to go to FSX or P3D and uncheck the controls box, then go into the setup of FSX or P3D and delete all AXIS calls. Let FSUIPC do the work, this way you won't have conflicts between FSX and FSUIPC.
  17. I have found that if you use the FSX-SE and use only the recommended tweeks that they offer, you will have a very stable platform, minus the Orbix scenary. I do not understand the reason to have micro detailed terrain and such whne you are at 30,000 feet, unless you would like to look at the details as you crash into a mountain side! Airports with detail, got it, but Bucks Creek Family Park along your flight path, I just do not get.
  18. Glynn first off great comparison, that is why I dumped last fall FSX for P3D, now I am in a quandry, I really like FSX-SE but I still like P3D, the only thing now that is making me hold on sticking with just one is both FSX-SE and P3D have issues with current retail software. As far JJIB's comments, me thinks thou protest too much! Pete I first off thank you for the work you do, and even though you refer to it as a hobby I know it is work. The problem I see is that no one else seems to be stepping up like you as far as making the programs that you have to make us simmers happy or make it easier for others to enjoy this hobby. What we see here as far as P3D - FSX - FSX-SE -Xplane is what happens when a need is created in a vacuum. For years I have bought every single version of MS Flight Simulator. Never did I look at Xplane that was really it's only minor competitor. Then Microsoft bails on a very successful platform and for how many years have we gone making FSX and for the die hards FS9 to keep going. So the field was stable, programmer knew they had a captive market and they knew the parameters for their platforms. Now first here comes Prepar3D, and whoa, but like FSX but not quite, but now we are at Version 2.4 and very stable with 2.5 coming soon out of Beta. Now of all things Steam says wait we can make this tried and true FSX run better! Now the game is on, we have 3 active players now biding for a niche in the sim market. You have to love capitalism as it will eventually decide who will survive! We the flight sim community first must thank those that have taken the time to learn, create, and share thier gifts to us. Then we must thank those that create and offer for a price their art (someone try and argue that it is not!) and sell it to us. Most of us are big boys and girls and know when to buy and not, so for those that want to complain about these people that add to my hobbies addiction, go somewhere else and vent your personal injustices. Oh and as far a FS9, got it great program but if it was so great why did not Steam or Lockheed Martin use it? Tried to purchase a copy the other day just to see how it would operate on my system, the cheapest I have been able to find is $40 and the most expensive was for over a $1000 on ebay. But again, why was its basic platform not picked up if it was the best. Like all things when looked through Darwins prsim, the strong will survive! I apologise for the rant, but give thanks for those that do try and help us!
  19. For me I am Primary - P3D but I am starting to load those planes that I can not on P3D to FSX-SE. I see good things so far coming, that is good! Since their latest patch, I have found quite a few things now work, such as exterior lighting for some aircraft. So I would hold judgement until it looks like they cannot deliver the goods!
  20. I have the Dore version of the PA A319 and it works great. Dore did a heck of a job in trying to get it right. I have his A319,320,and 321 versions that I find I fly more than the payware version. I found this site with all his versions, http://www.rikoooo.com/fr/forum/154/33764. I hope this helps.
  21. Tried to purchase a copy of FS2004 and no go! Could even find one of the jewel cased one that Wal Mart would sell for $9.95. But I can still get new copies of FS 2002.
  22. Here is a question, the problem I have is that FSPASSENGERS cannot see if SP1 or SP2 has been applied, is it a file it is looking for or could it be something that just requires a simple edit? CS and Majestic and others would not be able to work if they could not see SP1, so they can, what is the difference?
  23. Well my contribution, I added CS 727/757/767/777 last night with no issues. All had their landing gear showing and so far no issues that I can see. Also, EFB is working and Flight Sim Commander. I do not have the FSX on my system, but I do have P3D 2.4. My thinking for now is to use FSX for those planes that are not able to run on P3D.
  24. OK I worked the problem last night, I was able to get the engines to manually start after a few tries and hair pulls. First go by the instructions on switches, this aircraft is kind of like the real thing, if certain things are not where they are supposed to be, nothing happens. Make sure you have you air/electrical cart hooked up to the plane. Make sure that your gen switches are set correctly, and most importantly (this was my problem), make sure that your fuel switches are set the engine 2 & 3. Remember those engines are fed off the main center tank and must have the switches set correctly on the engineers fuel panel. I found out thatwhen i could not get #3 to start I by accident got #2 to start when I pushed the start button in, the panel was in the correct setting for that engine. Once you get 2 & 3 online, you do not have to worry about 1 & 4. Use the picture in the manual to match the levers for the proper setup for #3.
