  1. Good news! I would've voted for the vegetation in residential areas version. Bergen looks better in you last pictures imo. Anyway, great idea to make two versions. Looking forward to an even more livly hometown I've flown quite a few GA trips up north lately. With UHD, Norway Pro and freeware airports (user tdg at .org have made quite a few great freeware norwegian airports), what an great experience it is, even in the Alpha1 version!
  2. Ok great, thanks! Looking forward to the next beta, then
  3. Thank you so much for NorwayPro! As a norwegian I really enjoy it. I might have a problem though. Comparing against your pic no 2 in post #19, my home town of Bergen does not look as good as yours (the landscape is "flat", missing vegetation, tall buildings etc.): I have installed the required Libs and use HD Meshv3 and UHD Mesh v1: (Addon Airports) (Default Airports/Areas) SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/3D_people_library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/CDB-Library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/RD_Library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/RE_Library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/The_Handy_Objects_Library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/world-models-master/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/OpenSceneryX/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/ruscenery/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/ff_library_extended_LOD/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/flags_of_the_world/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/R2_Library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Europe_Library/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/w2xp_norway-pro/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/w2xp_denmark-pro/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/w2xp_Europe/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/zzz_uhd_global_scenery1/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/zzz_hd_global_scenery3/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/zzz_Treelines_Farms_Europe_v2/ I am a X-Plane newbie; is there any obvious fault in my scenery_packs.ini?
  4. Yes, HDR ended up as OFF here too. I have tried adjusting HDR settings, but I just can't make HDR look natural.
  5. I've heard the rumors of this tool being very advanced, doing all kinds of advanced calculations and high level computing. But in reality I think it more or less scans the scenery.cfg file and then copies/archieves files. That's it. I would expect at least it knew that Orbx also fiddles with terrain.cfg and autogen descriptors. Anyway, as a simple-to-use backup tool - definitely. As a tool to move general scenery addons from one version to another - yes. But as a tool to backup all scenery's, including Orbx, in v2.5 and restoring into v3.0 - nope. As it is today you will have to manually copy the Autogen folder and terrain.cfg after restore in v3.0 and that part was not even mentioned by the developer. So, it is not working 100% for Orbx stuff, but it would probably not be a difficult task to implement.
  6. FSCubed didn't quite do it in my sim. I made a fresh backup in v2.5 (Yes, took quite some time!) and restored it into v3.0. All non-FTX scenery was by the way put in a new folder inside P3D3. All Orbx was put where it should in the ORBX folder inside P3D3. One obvious problem at startup was that there was no ocean! Turned out that the "Autogen" folder and the terrain.cfg file was still Prepar3D v3 original. I copied that folder, and terrain.cfg, manually from Prepar3D v2 and viola! Yesterday a new version of FTX Central version was released, now with support for Prepar3D v3. So maybe recycling the active region in FTX Central would have corrected the Autogen and terrain. cfg (?). All in all... as a backup tool this is a great tool. But migrating from one version to another.. not so sure. Since there was a problem, I might start over and install everything from scratch when all addons have been released with support for Prepar3D v3. I would then KNOW that everything in in tiptop shape.
  7. Maybe an extra carriage return, would give pleny of room for a good read between the lines.
  8. Hi Ian, not sure what you want to achieve, but if you just want to study the ships or take photos, here is one way to do it: If you haven't got it already, install the freeware 'BOB' from FTX. You'll find on the bottom of this page: https://fullterrain.com/freeware Start at any airport near the ships Adjust zoom to your liking (If you want the ships to look proportionally OK, don't go under 0.8) Check in your control settings which keyboard buttons are bound to Slew movement (forward/backward/sideways/up/down/pan) Like Captain Henrik said: Hit 'Y' to go into slew mode Use the slew buttons to move around, find the ships and study/screenshot them. I normally go 3-4000 feet up and start following the coast at a whopping 2000 knots. At that speed you'll find the ships quickly. If you see a small moving object down there, dive in.. If you want "real" photos, ie from a cockpit or outside a plane, you could use the same technique. Just make sure engines are started when going into Slew (otherwise you would have non-moving propellers in your photos). Hope that helps.
  9. Thought I posted a link directly to the post with the download link? Oh well, you probably have by now Looks like the problem is still there with 1.18.6, though..
  10. Have not seen this myself (yet) so still on 1.18.5, but dev released a 1.18.6 not having this 10 sec limit. Worth a try maybe..: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=51364&PID=322980&title=why-doesnt-work-worldcamera#322980
  11. No, the shimmering is still there, at least on my sim. Only 4 to 8x SGSS in NI or DSR fixes that. But the fight over the z-position is greatly reduced, so thanks to 'Slayer' who mysteriously found this! A "Real life" example of the difference (you need to watch in FullHD to clearly see the difference): (This is Freeware airport ENBR Flesland from the Airport of Norway pack, btw)
  12. The videos linked were recorded in Slew mode. For realism, the actual Ship pack included sound file was edited in afterwards in one of them. Although, one can achieve the same by using the EZCA Camera addon POV mode. The main advantage (in addition to smooth camera motion) being that the actual sound wound then also will be recorded. As Henrik pointed out, the waves in P3D2 will show up like this with water setting at 'Ultra' and 'Bathmetry' enabled. With Bathmetry enabled, wave height will also change in relation to the water depth (although, afaik depth data by default is only available for the US and Hawaii). In the videos I'm using REX Textures from the 'old' Essentials+OD, btw. The new REX4 textures are far too blue imo. An example video with max winds (only edit is added winds sounds - recorded in 30fps and 8xSGSS in Nvidia Inspector, so a bit "stuttery"): http://youtu.be/zmgh-dyxTBc
  13. This is sad. Rest in peace, Mr. Allensworth, and condolences to the family. A huge thank you for all that you gave to the simming community. Continued blue skies up..

  15. What a fantastic video! Nice light! And just another proof that videos on YT is a stuttering mess (ok, exaggerating a bit), especially in panning shots. The downloaded video was way smoother. Using a 780Ti in 1080, but will try your settings. In "screenshot mode", unfortunately I need NI 4xSGSS too, ref the resolution.. You are probably tired of all the questions, but can I ask what is your Nvidia CP settings? Sync enabled (not 1/2 refresh rate I recon, since your monitor is 30Hz)? And, are you using REX for other textures than clouds?
  16. Have you tried enabling "Allow desktop capture" in Shadowplay preferences?
  17. My old, now retired, rig has a i7-930@3.8, a GTX670 2GB and 6GB 1600MHz RAM. As long as I didn't go bananas with SGSS in Nvidia Inspector, it ran P3D2 quite well at medium settings (including shadows).
  18. There is unfortunately no bezel correction this was, which unfortunately makes it a bit unrealistic.
  19. Same here (from Norway). Chrome reports "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED". No official Clouds fix today then, I guess.
  20. Yes, after updating to SP2 and installing new textures, water reflections seems back to normal. Edit: Yes, like figgios, updated animations and deleted shaders too.
  21. Afaik this is a P3D bug, but they mush have done something for sure. This update made wonders at least for my water reflections!
  22. I am sure this fine gentleman had the best of intentions, and agree this was a bit rude. It would probably take less time to paste the link to the "other" thread, maybe with a (polite) forum search reminder.
