    777 Activation

Yes, I run everything as an admin and I have UAC set to never notify me. I'm just confused as to why this is happening only to my 777 and not any of my other payware aircraft.
  2. Yes, I have been monitoring with RealTemp and I made sure to turn off the turbo mode in the BIOS which brought it down to 4.0 GHz from 4.4 GHz. I bought and installed a much bigger CPU fan yesterday and installed it, so far my PC is running great idling in the 30s to 40s and survived a stress test without going over 65 we'll just have to see how long that will last. I will report back in a couple of days.

    777 Activation

Everytime I select any variation of the 777 in free flight it asks for my activation key which I put in and it connects to the server and eventually tells me that my 777 has been successfully activated however if I close out of FSX and restart FSX and again select the 777 it asks for my activation key again. I tried loading up my NGX and did so without being asked to enter my activation key again. I'm not sure if this is related to the issue but I noticed once I activate my 777 and go into the sim my landing gear is invisible from the exterior view, the rest of the aircraft is all there.
  4. That was going to be my next move, get a aftermarket heat sink. And Sascha please don't scare me like that, my graphics card is the most expensive thing on this computer lol.
  5. Last weekend I built my new computer which I have been saving up for about 6 months and was really excited to use it. I have since ran into an issue with it freezing every few hours and when it freezes it almost always makes a loud buzzing noise from the speakers. Ocassionally it will blue screen but that has only happened a couple times and I'm not sure if that is related to this issue. I thought it might be an issue with overheating because it was running a little hotter than it should while idling (low 50s) so I took the heat sink fan off made sure it was seated properly and applied fresh thermal paste which seemed to fix the issue for awhile and it would sit around 30-40 degrees while idling. Now three days later it is back to idling at 50 degrees and crashing every few hours. I am still suspecting some kind of overheating issue but the only other idea I have is that I have a faulty heat sink fan (it is the one my processor came with). After a week of researching possible solutions I am losing my patience and am running short on time as I am moving overseas in less than a week. My PC specs should be listed on my profile but here are links to them as well. 6. Basically there are two version of FS2Crew, voice control and button control. Voice control allows you to talk to your first officer through you headset. Button control lets you give commands to your first officer by pressing certain buttons. I've never used button control because I like voice control but it is your preference. The Multi Crew bundle you're looking at include FS2Crew editions for several different aircraft.
  7. ORD scenery is towards the top but there are a couple other FSDT sceneries on top of it. Have the HIGHMEM fix, Vsync fix, Affinity Mask, and bufferpools in my CFG.
  8. Just did a fresh install of FSX after building a new PC and while I was at it I picked up some FTX addons that I have been wanting. I installed FSX then installed FTX Global, Vector, and OpenLC EU in that order. I then installed various payware scenery I have from Flightbeam, FSDT, and FlyTampa. I haven't tested this at all of my payware airports but I noticed at FSDT KORD I have bumps and small hills in the middle of the airport and it looks like there are two layers of ground the top one being more transparent. Anyone know if this is an issue caused by FSDT or FTX?
  9. I actually just finished building my new PC the other day so I have spent the last couple days downloading and installing a bunch of stuff. I have been doing research on how to properly tweak FSX as well as some other FS related topics while I wait. Also play some Forza 4 or Skyrim on my xbox.
  10. Well since we are making requests can I ask for 757 and 767 with all variants? Alright PMDG you have seen my request now get to it! (Just in case someone thinks I'm being serious, http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/sarcasm)
  11. LOL that's a good one. My guess would be somewhere in the PNW, maybe in the Ketchikan (PAKT) area.
  12. I'm a controller down in ZMA (Miami) ARTCC and myself and the people I control with usually are very patient when it comes to dealing with pilots who are having trouble or are new to flying online. For me, as long as I can tell you are trying and not just trying to log onto a runway and takeoff in front of 5 aircraft without saying a word to a controller, I will do my best to assist you and this is the attitude I have found with most controllers throughout VATSIM when I am doing flights. My first flight on VATSIM I had no idea what I was doing. I had done a few practice flights in free flight and that was the extent of my flight simming experience. I got on Teamspeak with a friend of mine and he told me everything I had to do to operate the aircraft and then anytime ATC would talk to me he would type out really quick what I had to say and I would just read that to the controller. It was probably not the best way to be introduced to flight simming on VATSIM but after a few flights I knew how to do the basics and just kept reading training documents and learning based on experiences flying on the server.
  13. I read this the other day; with the exception of two (Newcastle and Guinness) I don't drink any of those beers anyway, they just taste like nasty water to me.
  14. You won't be disappointed in any PMDG addon you purchase. I have a hard time choosing which PMDG aircraft is my favorite but the MD-11 would be a very strong contender next to the NGX (until they get the 747v2 released). Even though the MD-11 isn't their best selling aircraft and the VC doesn't look as nice as the NGX or T7 it is still one of my favorite heavies to fly.
  15. I learned my lesson about buying (or donating) money for unfinished products a year ago or so. I purchased a product that was not fully complete and even when it was complete was still a very disappointing product. I am very reluctant to pre-order or buy incomplete products and definitely wouldn't donate any money to a kickstarter project regardless of who was developing it. That is just my opinion based on my own experiences, I like to see what the final product is before I just jump in.
  16. I have a yoke and that makes flying almost any aircraft more fun to fly and gives you a little more immersion. I agree that FS2Crew can get in my way every once and awhile, but if it starts annoying me during a flight then I just turn it off and ignore it.
  17. I would recommend both. They both offer something that the other does not. I have flown a lot with FSE and it is lots of fun. FSE allows you to fly almost any GA aircraft you can think of and a few small commercial aircraft (nothing bigger than a 738 or a A321). It also allows you to have business interactions with other players such as buying and selling planes, ferrying aircraft or goods, and much more and the best part is it is free. What interests me in programs like REX Latitude or similar products is the evaluation of my flying and the ability to progress through a career. When I am able to get back to flight sim in a couple of months I plan on getting REX Latitude and running it along side FSE, so that is a possibility you could look into.
  18. Yes, some Orbx scenery and a nice high wing GA aircraft addon like the A2A C172.
  19. There are these two as well. HiFi X Pax http://www.hifitechinc.com/products/x-pax REX Latitude http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/latitude.html I remember seeing the REX Latitude when it was being developed and thought it looked pretty cool. I plan on giving it a try once I get back to my desktop. EDIT: Actually it might have been REX SimAir that I was looking at, I can't remember. They both look pretty interesting though. http://www.simairexperience.com/
  20. FS2Crew is an excellent addon for any aircraft and I love having it. It makes my workload a little less and gives a more realistic feeling. However, I would recommend starting out without FS2Crew so that you have a good feel for what all the procedures are and how to perform everything on your own and not rely on a virtual FO. I say this because I have caught things that my virtual FO forgets to do or says he did but didn't and it is helpful that I know what to look for so I can spot when he has messed up.
  21. Any of PMDGs aircraft are awesome aircraft to buy and you won't be disappointed in any purchase whether it be their older 747 (which a v2 is in the works at the moment) or you get the 777. I own all of their FSX aircraft and love flying all of them. The first realistic aircraft addon I purchased for FSX was the NGX and it was a little difficult to learn at first but I hadn't been simming that for that long either so aviation in general was new to me. There are plenty of tutorials for the NGX and the 777 on Youtube which will provide plenty of assistance and they all come with excellent documentation. On the other hand have you considered the Majestic Q400? It is a turboprop airliner that is a great commercial aircraft that might not be as big a jump as a 777 but still offers IFR experience and most of the modern technology that is found in many jet airliners. PMDG also offers the JS41 which is another great IFR turboprop you could look at.
  22. I like airports that I have scenery for and that are challenging or interesting to fly in/out of in my NGX. KDCA, KSAN, KEYW are all nice airports. I used to fly KMCO to KEYW a lot before Southwest cancelled that route. I like to fly out of KTPA a lot because the FlyTampa scenery is awesome and it is my home airport. PAJN can get fun at night with low visibility. TNCM and a lot of the other airports in the southern Caribbean are fun too (TKPK, TLPL, etc).
  23. Excellent choice, I have both of those sceneries and I can promise that you won't be disappointed. And I have actually done several routes between TNCM and KLAX even though no real airlines operate them and it is a very fun flight. TNCM is a favorite of mine because FlyTampa offers great scenery for it and it provides a challenging approach and departure (especially in a MD-11 loaded for a 8-9 hour flight).
  24. Lol yes, my mistake. Sim. I've been away from home for too long and haven't had the chance to do anything fun. Well the screenshots look awesome. I might have to dust of my copy of FS9 and install some of those.
  25. Very nice shots! I also have Taxi2Gate's KMCO and enjoy it very much. Those shots are from FS9? They look way better than a lot of other FS9 shots I've seen. Besides T2G KMCO what other addon's do you run to make your game look like that?
