  1. Andreas, huge thanks for posting this mate... Seriously, massive thanks... I was going to buy UT2, and I'm positive that this is one of those thngs you only find out about after you have spent your money, so will have to find a different AI package instead.. Wont be buying UT2 after all it seems :-(
  2. Even after translating the YouTube video description with google, it still makes no sense...
  3. I have 2 identical systems, 1 with SSD's and the other with 2 x 1TB drives in RAID0, and the only noticable difference is the amount of time it takes to load a flight. It has zero impact on FPS at all, because it seems, what your flying in is already in the RAM and will be fetched accordingly when needed. It does however mean that flight loading times, software install times etc are seconds, not minutes, plus zero heat/noise generated from SSD's, and they are small enough to mount in your case out of the way of fans, so dont block airflow :-) Plus you dont need a system page file either, so can switch that off to save a ton of space.
  4. How do you know FSDT will deny it? Have you asked them already or had dealings with them in the past that leads you to think they would have such a negative response to your problem?
  5. Fair enough... Was just looking for any similarities or none similarities, that one stood out.. I also use a load of add-ons as listed in my profile..
  6. Hi Mate Fill in your profile with your PC specs and your flight sim specs/addons so we know a bit more about what your working with and we can go from there. Have a read over kostas guide, and try out 1 tweak at a time... I like to pick a short test flight from 1 airport to another, in my case Greater London (Biggin hill) suburbs into Heathrow as a short 10 minute test flight, so I make a tweak, then fly the test route and see how it performs, and tweak/fly as needed. If it then performs well flying over central London, landing at Heathrow, then everywhere else should be great. Good choice of systemboard too, very good choice... I love mine and use a triple screen setup, and get nothing less than 24fps smooth performance into London Heathrow in the PMDG NGX with UK2000 Heathrow Extreme :-) But, it did take quite a few test flights to get it nice and smoothly tweaked.
  7. Hiya mate.. Seems good so far, but looks a bit dark though for summer traffic?
  8. Hmm, I fly out of biggin a lot, I use it as my test bench by flying out of 03, and around to heathrow and have never had any stutters there, flown right over central London and down into heathrow and both the default 737-800, PMDG NGX-800, Grob tutor and the cessna 172... Its sort of my base airport as I live a stones throw from the end of the runway.. I notice that both of you guys have "Shade", but I've never touched that... I have the entire UK2000 library installed, including the VFR airfields, and it looks really good, but no stutters..
  9. I've been trying out some shared cockpit flying in the MadDog with Dave from OVPA... Takes a fair bit of messing about it seems to get it to work, what with port forwarding and other settings, but hopefully will get it running right sometime soon. I wish there was a shared cockpit for the PMDG NGX!!! Man that would be awesome, but would probably kill performance totally...
  10. Neil Does it work if you set wideaspectview to false? I wonder if that makes the different, in that when using wide aspect view, 1.0 might be the smallest it goes to instead of down to 0.3? I've never used wideaspectview... I tried it, but totally didn't like it..
  11. Hi Neil Your problem "Could" be that, as you have said, you have both SP2 + Acceleration" installed. FSX is either SP1 & SP2 OR Acceleration, but not both. Initialzoom DOES work just fine, I set mine to 0.3 with wideaspect turned off, and it works just fine.
  12. I would love a function on my PC that said "Load Joy"..... Great for those days when you could use a little happiness.
  13. I have to say, I wouldnt buy it, and neither would I install it if it were free... My last experience with anything made by sim-wings was rubbish... Really bad FPS, and looking at those screenshots, it looks like they still haven't sorted out the biggest and most obvious problem, in that from image #15 onwards, there is no airport when your coming in to land. Nothing at all, just a big flat patch-o-concrete and no runway papi lights... You fly that same path in UK2000 EGLL Extreme and you will see a huge difference to how the airport looks.. Remake or not, its not going to be a threat to UK2000 EGLL Extreme in my books..
  14. OMG, trying to choose a new headset is a bloomin nightmare... Soo many to choose from... I was thinking about the Logitech wireless G930, but seems to totally enclose the ears, blocking outside noise, and I'm not keen on that as I'd like to at least be able to hear what I'm saying, and those Sennheiser's 360 are nice looking, and because they are open backed, I would still be able to hear the sim, and my own voice, AND be very comfortable, but they are not USB, Not keen on trailing the cables across the middle of my desk down to my PC... They look like they will take the TrackIR Pro Clip.. 10ft of cable though.... Hmmm
  15. Ahhh, fair play mate... Good luck with it... FSUIPC is great once you get your head around it. I spent quite some time reading the manual and pressing buttons :-) If you need any help, let me know.. Not an FSX expert, but will do what I can..
  16. Ohhhh NNoooooooooooo lol Can I ask you how thick is the headband on the left side, just above the ear-peice? If its not too thick then maybe the TIR Proclip will fit it.. Sorry to be a past mate, and thanks for taking the time to reply :-)
  17. Thats unusual, because FSUIPC has it a one of the big tabs at the top... Been like that since I started using it 6 months ago..
  18. Go and have a listen to what it sounds like on YouTube first... Once you hear it, you can decide for yourself if you like it or not.
  19. Hiya Mosteen Do you happen to use this headset with TrackIR at all? It looks uber comfortable, but just wondering if the TrackIR Pro clip will fit on it?
  20. Thrust reverse for both the Warthog and the Saitek throttles are buttons.. On the warthog, lifting the throttles over the rear detent activates the button for each throttle, and on the saitek throttles, the little detent at the bottom is also a button. Both sets of throttles do the same thing, so you program each button separately to activate thrust decrease, and when released, thrust idle.. If you leave the throttles at zero, then load up either Windows Game controller window to calibrate or FSUIPC, then move the throttle down into the detent, you will see it activates a button push
  21. You might want to remove your email address from this thread mate, unless you want a plague of spam to come your way (Spambots) I agree though, PMDG have been awesome too with fixing a 737NGX.DLL problem that kept crashing my NGX...
  22. Hi Jordan... Not necessarily, if it works just fine then its all good. Throttle quadrants don't pull much power at all, hardly anything in fact, 100mA at most, but if you had a multi panel plugged into the yoke, you would definitely notice that its not as bright as it should be. Same as a radio panel, whereas on their own powered USB ports, they are much brighter (A visual indication that its not getting as much power as it should. If it gives you any problems, then yes, put it on its own separate powered USB socket.
  23. Hiya Tony... It doesnt overload it... The problem is simply that the Yoke has no power supply by default, so anything else you plugin, will take away power from the 500mA assigned to the yoke. Plugin too much and they will all die... If however you plug-in a 5v 2A power supply into the yoke, it should then be fine, as each device can have 500mA. Same as some USB's hubs. Even with USB hubs you have to double check the power supply that comes with them and what your trying to run from it... The first lot of USB hubs I bought were 7 port hubs, but only had 2A power supplies, thus when loaded up, everything died as it was pulling too much current. My new ones, belkin slims are awesome.. 7 Ports and a 4A power supply, plenty of juice, and it never gets hot :-)
