  1. Scroll wheel support, instrument reflections, popup panel and some other things for the next update in a few weeks. https://youtu.be/spN1Fuce0TM
  2. Interesting, let us know the result. Personally I'm kind of waiting for Vulkan to make use of both my Intel Integrated Graphics and my GTX770 simultaneously.
  3. Are you trying to run 64bit xplane on a 32bit os? Never heard of optirun sorry and X-Plane works perfectly on my 64bit Ubuntu 14.04. ~20% FPS better than on proprietary os with Nvidia. In bash etc. scripts to must either say execute here: ./X*64 or give the full path with spaces escaped with \ for ex. Piper\ Malibu etc. or use wildcard *
  4. Funny that download protection for 10 bucks. Anyway as I boot proprietary OS only to recompile my stuff, that saves me those bucks. Easy decision.
  5. Quadro however seems the perfect card for Vulkan as it will support multiple GPUs, even across vendors. For ex. it should use my Nvidia GTX770 but also my integrated Intel graphics simultaneously. So I expect that I can use my current PC for longer than my usual 5 years.
  6. Never heard of Quadro, what the difference of those to all others? Better X-Plane FPS? I remember OSX to support OpenGL 4 only since a few months, so I guess you will get Vulkan at least one year late.
  7. The Phenom with a textured moving map would be on my wishlist, as we have now 3 different PC-12 versions.
  8. Apple repack Nvidia/Amd drivers and distribute them with their os updates. Amd drivers for Linux seem to catch up especially when we get Vulkan. Anyway the fastest AMD is about the same as a 2 years old Nvidia?
  9. MAC drivers are by far outdated, usually 1-2 years behind. Linux is fastest by around 20% to Windows and 25% or more to Mac, at least with Nvidia. Funny those Mac users all are sure to have the best os...
  10. I don't think you need the disc version, simply get the updater: http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/x-plane_10_installer-updater/ and point to your x-plane. something alike steam/x-plane... latest stable is still 10.32
  11. Looks good, the more like the real airplane, the better.
  12. Well you're free to help them. Some planes are nice and get better and better like for ex. the IAR80, CitationX, http://wiki.flightgear.org/Boeing_787-8_Dreamliner etc.
  13. Stunning, if 3.4 looks like in those images it leaves all other sims behind.- What airplane is that?
  14. Yes me too. A huge 4K 3D LG. See this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/462555-hdmi-4k-tv/#entry3180665
  15. Simply connect, select pc input on the TV and it works. Seems the resolution is defined by the PC as in the pic? You get two displays and can move around with the mouse for ex. X-plane/FSX etc. on my huge TV and some instruments on the PC. Great, will try later Doom3BFG on Ubuntu as it supports 3D TV.
  16. I guess glNext will destroy OpenGL 4.* in the same way that DX12 does with DX11: We need to wait for GDC next month to get details and then cross fingers to get it for X-Plane 11: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Next-Gen-OpenGL-GDC15 DirectX 12 versus DirectX 11 - DX12 Techdemo (Futuremark) The DirectX 12 Performance Preview: AMD, NVIDIA, & Star Swarm
  17. culleydog download the updater/installer from x-plane.com, point it to your root x-plane folder, somewhere steam/apps/x-plane or so and try to update x-plane. I don't see why such should not work and report back here as surely many steam and potential users are curious about that.
  18. No, I cannot imagine that there's any downside. Like addons you give the path and it's 100% the same x-plane. I don't have xp but for ex. WarThunder etc. I've here: /media/michael/DATA/steam/SteamApps/common/War Thunder You can even completely skip steam by making a direct desktoplink. Simply download and point the xplaneupdater to the xp folder and you're good.
  19. The touch screen looks gorgeous. Any programmers could comment on that? I wonder how that was done, with cairo? Any videos around? What libs does the plugin use? I can live without sid/star, while waiting for x-plane to integrate that someday. Thanks
  20. Best to send uglydwarf over at x-plane.org a PM. (He's often responding in the Linux section to questions)
  21. I have bought recently a huge LG TV with 3D/4K. How do do you connect? Simply with HDMI cables, will that pop up on channel 1? I also want to try later 3D with Doom BFG, preferable on Ubuntu.
  22. Hi yes send me an email in ~1-2 week or so when the update is out. As always a free update for previous customers. I'm still having a hard time moving from Blender 2.49 to 2.71 and haven't looked at those new datarefs for now. I guess I have that side force dataref increasing with torque and lower simultaneously with ground speed.
  23. Thanks, it's done with Blender. There will be another small update next week or so: -reduced torque effects -second GPS for NG and Long Winglets -autopilot changes -some cosmetics
  24. You mean: fside_plug_acf Not sure if that's needed at all for a multiprop as you simply set half the engines spin the other way around. I might use that in my next PC12 update for takeoff. Anyway it's kind of silly from Pmdg to announce something that they cannot reach even close.
