  1. I was trying to think of the program lumberjack, but I couldn't remember the name. I downloaded it a few weeks ago, but have not used it. Don't need it, so far. Well, hope you get it figured out. If you do, please let us know, as it may be a problem for me in the future. Safe Flyin' Rod
  2. Do you have just a lot of trees, or is the main problem trees on runways and taxiways? Ensure you have the UTX scenery under the FTX scenery within the FSX Scenery Library. Also, that you have installed the most current Object libraries 130927, which may or may not have any bearing on your problem. In real life, some towns and areas where used to live do not have very many trees, and the default FSX didn't have that many either in those areas. Once I installed FTX NA, there were a lot of trees. I had made the comment before, either in this forum or Orbx forum, about the many trees in my hometown, and someone stated to turn down my autogen in FSX. Well, I would if I flew there all of, or most of the time, however, I fly all over. So, I didn't turn anything down. I created my own exclusion scenery using ADE and got rid of a lot of trees....just at my home town. Hopefully someone can give you (us) a better answer. Rod
  3. Arjen I have the TrackIR 5 with the TrackClip Pro (TC Pro), and like it was mentioned above, it's pretty fragile. Lucky me, I haven't broken it....yet. I use the TC Pro only when I have my headset on, and flying online. Most of my flying is off line, so I fly with my hat clip. I have a flimsy hat so my headset can set on my head with no "headaches", if I wanted to fly without the TC Pro. 1. I recommend the TrackClip Pro. Like mentioned, the disadvantage is it's fragile, and may break. 2. No loss of framerates at all with my system. 3. Have not researched, nor experimented. So basically....I don't know 4. I think it's a very good investment for your FSX experiences. I also use EZDOK and have no problems as it's fully compatible. Rod
  4. Hi Mauricio... Yeah, it is a pain when setting the computer back to factory settings. I fly using the PMDG 737NGX, iFly 737, A2A Cessna 172 Trainer, and a lot of Carenado aircraft. Good luck to you as I know it's frustrating. Rod
  5. I have the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 and running the latest driver, 327.23, with no problems. Rod
  6. What other sceneries do you have installed? Sounds like you have a conflict with third party scenery file. Do you have UTX Alaska installed? Ensure you go to the Orbx forum and check their "Payware Support Forum" or their "Compatibility Forum", as there are fixes for UTX Alaska and other third party sceneries. Or, just go to their forum and do a search in their search box. I just typed PAJN, and got a lot of threads about problems with PAJN. I'd check the Orbx forum for all problems with their scenery. I think they have the answers for all situations. Hope you get it fixed. Rod
  7. Well, sorry to hear that. I haven't had any problems since using FSUIPC. Some one else had told me a few months ago about using FSUIPC, that's why I started using it. I just finished another 4 hour flight, about 2 minutes ago, was switching back and forth from Plan-G, Internet, MS Outlook to check my email, and not one disconnect. Just a wild shot....set your computer back to factory settings, or to back as if it were new, reinstall everything, and try that. I know it takes along time to do it, but it has worked for me in the past. I reset my computer back to factory default about every four to five months anyways. Hope you get it figured out. Rod
  8. I had the same problems, as when I switched to another program with FSX running, I would lose connection. As I said, since using FSUIPC I've not had a problem. I've had three or four, maybe five, different programs running while FSX is running, and I would go to each program and never have disconnect problems. The only other thing I have done is in Device Managers, I've ensured all USB and Human Interface Devices power management is set so computer cannot turn off this device. Without FSUIPC that did not make any difference though. I really think, the only real work around for us WIN 8 users is to use FSUIPC (Payware) with FSX. Hope you get it figured out. Rod
  9. Mark....are you using FSUIPC for your controls. The reason I ask, I've had WIN 8 for some time now, and I'm always wandering about these updates. I'm using FSUIPC for my controls and I have yet to lose connection. Thanks. Rod
  10. I don't know the answer, however, if you jump over to the Orbx forum and ask, I'm sure someone would inform you how to do it. Rod
  11. Yeah, I think some updates we get screw things up from time to time. About a month ago, or so, my FSX was running great. Then, I had a bunch of updates that were applied....I went to run one of my programs, and continued to get unhandled exception errors. Couldn't get rid of the errors, got frustrated, and reinstalled my system back to default, and everything runs perfect. Rod
  12. This is my system: GPU: GeForce GTX 660 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k CPU @ 3.50GHz Memory: 12 GB RAM OS: Windows 8 64bit Monitor: 27 inch....1920 x 1080 60hz Flight Sim: FSX Acceleration Controls: CH yoke and pedals. Weather Generator: Active Sky 2012 Other programs: EZDok 1.17, TrackIR 5, FS Commander 9.3, DX10 Scenery Fixer I configure my yoke and pedals using the payware version of FSUIPC. When I'm flying online, with others, I also have Internet Explorer active so I can access my flying club's website as I'm flying. I've had no memory problems or crashes. Very smooth. Running 30fps except when I fly into to the Seattle area (KSEA). I have all but a couple of sliders maxed. Can't remember which ones I don't have maxed, but they are off by one notch from being maxed. I purchased this system and have not added anything to it. Hope you get back into flying. Rod Of course there are a lot of other configurations, i.e, better graphics cards out there too.
  13. I don't have Opus. I'm using 1.17, and have had no errors at all. I'm running WIN8, TrackIR 5, Active Sky 2012. I've had version 1.17 for a while now, maybe three months or more. Rod
  14. Holland, To answer, what I did was went to their search box and typed SIM720. Here is one thread I found, though dated April. Not knowing what the relationship between SIM720 and Orbx is, my guess is that they were a "team" at one time, or still are. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/57658-for-the-sim720-boysand-girls/?hl=sim720 Here's another dated September.... They're just mentioning SIM720 in the text. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/64567-a-special-message/?hl=sim720 So, again I'm not sure why they deleted your post(s). And, again, thanks for sharing the SIM720 pic. Greg.....Looks good. I've been to your site now, thanks to this thread, and am looking forward to more of SIM720 scenery. Rod
  15. Holland, Not knowing exactly what you posted on the Orbx forum, I would have to agree with Cvearl's post above. However, I've seen a post or two over at Orbx, of the mention of SIM720 scenery, and they weren't deleted. And, as I read the posting rules for this forum, reading between the lines, there are a lot of posts here that should be deleted. There has been a lot of "head bashing" on this forum towards other people and their products. Anyways Holland, thanks for sharing the screenshot as I never had gone to the SIM720 website before, and now I have. Looks like a fantastic product. May have to try it out. Safe Flyin' Rod
  16. Totally agree Nick. I purchased my windows 8 system this past January, had yoke and pedal disconnects a lot. Some one on this forum told me to use the payware FSUIPC and it will fix all your problems. Well, it did! I have never had a disconnect since. Rod.
  17. It's not the scenery. Looks like your video card, and/or system, can't keep up with the graphics, however, according to your computer specs, it should work. Sorry, I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm not a computer tech like a lot of the people on the forum that will probably assist you. And, maybe someone over at Orbx can help you out. Hope you get if figured out. Rod
  18. I'm not sure if you're joking or serious. If serious, what is the link to the program called "Lumberjack". If you're not, did you fix your problem, and if you did, how? Rod
  19. Chris, I'm not sure what the right answer, or solution is, however, I've seen a lot of posts at the Orbx forums reference trees on runways and ramps. If you search their forums you may find the answer. Did you reinstall the latest Object Libraries after install of FTX Global? Even though, the Orbx team stated that the libraries are installed with FTX Global, I saw one thread at Orbx (by a developer) that you may have to reinstall the libraries again after FTX G is installed. After any install of Orbx scenery I reinstall the libraries. And ensure you have the scenery addons in the correct order in your scenery library within FSX. I see you have GEX, which I don't, so I'm not sure where the GEX scenery should be in comparison to the FTX scenery within the scenery library. Hope you get it figured out. By the way, thanks for serving! I served for 30 years. Rod
  20. I use FSUIPC. If you've never tried FSUIPC, I'd recommend it. I did use CH Control Manager, however, after figuring FSUIPC out, It seems to work better and I can set the settings faster. I've not had any problems with the PMDG 737NGX, nor any other a/c. Rod
  21. Install, or reinstall the latest Object Libraries, dated 130909. Hopefully that will solve the problem. It has for a lot of other folks. The end result is you should have FTX Global, NA, and EU (if that) choices, and when you click on FTX Global you should see the three boxes down on the bottom. You should not have a Default option.
