  1. So I’ve decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to Win10 pro from Win 7pro. I have a server running win 10 and there are two laptops running it so it sorts of makes sense to make the switch on my main PC. I intend to install FSX and all the stuff below on its own SSD and there is an SSD already there for the OS. Now I’m not looking for a don’t do it/Do it type advice or “you should switch to P3d” (I’ve got too much money invested in FSX) but more along the lines of where to expect problems if any, and any other installation/setup advice you may feel relevant. One other question that’s knowing away is does anyone know if I need to de-register any of this stuff before I shut it all down? Thanks in advance and here’s the list I’m running: FSX deluxe I’ve also got FSX SE although I’ve not used it yet. Scenery from ORBX FTX Global Base FTX Global Vector FTX Open Landclass Various Airports from UK2000 and ORBX Pilots FSX Global MESH Active Sky Next Radar Contact v4.3 GSX Rex Essentials plus OD Various 3rd Party Aircraft PMDG/Aerosoft/Majestic/Real Air/A2A FS2CREW for all of the above Ultimate Traffic 2 DX10 Fixer FSUIPC EZDOC Saitek X52 Pro
  2. on the main screen one of the buttons on the left allows you to select Jet, prop, turboprop etc as well as setting your call sign FYI the dash 8 is a turboprop. sorry just re-read your post you already know where that change is made I'm not aware that it learns what type of aircraft you fly though
  3. Great news on the release Bryan and thanks for taking the time to add the button version, like others I would love to be able to use the voice versions of all of your products but my environment just doesnt allow for it, so a big thanks once again!
  4. Never had to remove gear pins either but the switch on the pilots left to disable steering seems to be in the disabled position by default. once switched mine turns as expected I am using spoiler axis though.
  5. Well that's warning enough for me Ray  I knew there was a wise one on here somewhere. thanks for the reply and if I miss one of your delightfull commands on RC4 I shall go stand in the naughty corner.
  6. No I'm not a stalker! I'm probably doing something wrong or not understanding the correct procedure, so I'm looking for soem clarification from the wiseone's out there. I create a flightplan in PFPX. export it to EFB where I add SID's/STAR's I then export that to as a FSX fp including procedures. RC4 initally clears me to 6000. Now once I've taken off and enter the SID let's say SAM3Z out of EGKK there are 4 ALT restrictions in place KKN09 (3000), KKW19 (3000), KKW26 (4000), and SAM (4000) should I now ignore them as RC4 has cleared me to 6000 or should I ignore RC4 and follow the restriction?
  7. Great news on the 777 Mark. Have you thought about the Aerosoft A318/9/20 range? dare I say Majestic Dash 8 as well?.....I know want want want!
  8. Hi Mike, not sure what's causing your problem but I do have FSX with Acceleration along with ORBx and other 3rd party scenery/airpports and I have no issues with landing lights, so I know it should all be OK. I don;t have the Otter but I do have the Dash plus some of thr PMDG range and Aerosofts 318/9/20 range and again it's fine with them. Do you have dx10 preview switched on? maybe a dx10 issue?
  9. I think you're missing the point. The company Virtual CDU have a 777 app already. If the sdk isn't available for Mark to create the app then how have Virtual CDU done it?
  10. So the question still stands then... How do virtual CDU do it?
  11. Sorry but these posts aren't about advertising an alternative at $20 it's about asking pmdg to open up the sdk for another developer to create an alternative. $20 is out of the reach of some people €5 may be more acceptable to them.
  12. Just want to add my thanks to Mark for this as well. less than 5 minutes from asking for a key to paying for it and running a quick test flight. No issues at all with it. Completed first full flight yesterday using it and it was so much easier as I only have one monitor. Trying to tab between charts, the flight the plan and everything else this just makes it simple and for only €5. Top man Mark well done. I'll head off to PMDG now and lobby them to open up the T7 sdk.
  13. I do regularly on long flights. In fact there is an option in RC4 to pause the flight for you xx miles from destination
  14. I thought the double chime was to notify the cabin crew to prepare for landing?
  15. I think you'll find this is the difference between Indicated Air Speed and true airspeed. IAS will vary depending on altitude. http://www.decodedscience.com/airspeed-of-an-aircraft-indicated-airspeed-ias-and-true-airspeed-tas/5035
  16. Looks good Mark, I'd be interested in the android version
  17. I've been running ASN on my Win 10 preview for a few months now with FSX on a Win 7 PC. No issues at all
  18. If you find the appropriate chart for the airport it will have the gates marked on there
  19. the only thing I do after a new Graphics Driver is to reload the FSX setting in Nvidia Inspector. If I'm supposed to do anything else I've not read that anywhere.
  20. Thanks for that I'm gob-smacked I've always assumed that FSX only worked with the loaded FP. well you learn something new everyday! :o
  21. I understand that EFB will update the flightplan and then you can save it to FSX but if I'm reading your reply correctly I think you're saying that FSX will automatically load the amended flightplan and then give you a new option of "request clearance to destination"......really? I have to admit I don't use the default ATC any more I use RC4 but I've never known FSX to automatically load a flightplan either amended or otherwise.
  22. I'm confused....How does that work? what ATC are you using and how does it update the FSX flightplan?
